July 8th, 2026 -Enhanced Processing Orchestration, UI Improvements, and Core Stability Fixes
What's new:
-
After PIX4Dcloud finishes processing a dataset, a survey about the quality of the results may appear.
Improvements:
- Improved the image selection step in the dataset creation wizard with a better balance between the image list and map, making it easier to review selected images.
- Improved Gaussian splats generation with tighter regions of interest for drone and mixed projects to reduce blurry surroundings.
- Improved processing orchestration so PIX4Dcloud can better respond to spikes in processing demand and move projects through processing states faster.
- Updated the user menu with clearer organization, refreshed icons, and easier access to documentation, demo projects, training, community, privacy settings, and the support chatbot.
Changes:
- Data retention notification emails are now sent to both Owners and Managers of an Organization, in addition to the Organization’s email contacts.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed the issue where an organization removal email was sent when someone’s access license or resource was downgraded.
- Fixed the issue where annotations could be unexpectedly deleted or the web UI’s editors could display the content of a different dataset after someone with edit permissions opened a dataset using a read-only link
- Fixed issue where annotations did not snap to IFC design overlays in the 3D editor unless another 3D layer was also active.
- Fixed the issue where processing failed when the dataset’s coordinate reference system was arbitrary, i.e., engineering CRS.
- Fixed the issue where the dataset’s location in the drive’s map was sometimes incorrect for datasets using a left-handed coordinate reference system.
- Fixed the issue where “Focus on Annotation” did not move the camera for projects created with a site-localized CRS.
- Fixed the issue where the dataset creation wizard silently failed to create a site with a name that is longer than 100 characters.
- Fixed processing failures for datasets with mixed image resolutions.
- Fixed the issue where processing failed when the dataset included blank PIX4Dcatch depth maps.
- Fixed the issue where a point cloud unexpectedly remained visible in the web UI’s 3D editor after it was replaced.
- Fixed the issue where manually uploaded 3D textured meshes could appear pixelated in the 3D editor.
July 7th, 2026 - Inspector reliability, layer visibility, and drive UI enhancements
Improvements:
- Drive action menu items now display distinct icons and labels so users can clearly tell apart moving a dataset within the directory tree and linking or assigning it to a site.
Changes:
- The field previously named “name” is now labeled “label” across the product.
- The point size of datasets uploaded from PIX4Dcatch to PIX4Dcloud has been set to 2 for better visualization.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed the issue where the inspect tool stopped working after switching between projects within the same site.
- Fixed the issue where the Virtual Inspector continued to show images from a previously active dataset after switching datasets on a site.
- Fixed the issue where the image selection header and “Add images” button disappeared when scrolling through a long image list in the dataset creation wizard.
- Fixed the issue where annotation reports displayed internal IDs instead of user-facing labels.
- Fixed the issue where some child layers (including Autotags and Annotations) remained visible in the web UI’s 3D editor after their parent layer was deactivated in the layers list.
- Fixed the issue where the Autotags layer checkbox in compare mode did not correctly control the visibility of its child checkboxes.
June 26th, 2026 - UI Enhancements, Bug Fixes, and API Updates
Changes:
- When searching in PIX4Dcloud’s drive, the results no longer include datasets that are assigned to a site; instead, search for the site
- API credentials are no longer associated with a specific license.
- The Detection of the GCPs failed email will be discontinued in July 2026. More information about control points is in the Quality report after processing is complete.
Bug fixes:
-
Fixed the issue where one or more people could be unexpectedly removed from an organization after switching to another organization.
- Fixed the issue where inspection or marker annotations could not be selected in the web UI’s 3D editor.
- Fixed the issue where an organization member with the minimum permissions required could not generate an annotations report.
- Fixed the issue where parts of the orthomosaic sometimes disappeared or flickered in the web UI’s 2D editor when zoomed in.
April 29th, 2026 - Enhanced 3D Visualization, Improved Processing Efficiency, and UI Refinements
Improvements:
-
Reduced processing time for datasets with especially large number of 2D keypoint matches.
- Increased the maximum number of image marks that can be added to a dataset and processed.
Changes:
- “Volume difference” is named “Net volume”.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed the issue where the web UI’s 3D editor sometimes did not automatically zoom to the 3D textured mesh after clicking Focus on 3D Textured Mesh in the layers list.
- Fixed the issue where SLPK point clouds were rendered at an unexpected elevation when the PIX4Dcloud dataset’s coordinate reference system did not have a vertical component.
- Fixed the issue where reconstructions were sometimes unexpectedly cropped vertically when generating Gaussian splats with a region of interest and a non-metric coordinate reference system.
- Fixed the issue where compare more rendered DXF design overlays on both sides of the slider.
- Fixed the issue where annotations snapped to hidden annotations while holding Shift.
- Fixed the issue where a volume measurement was not rendered when it was behind a transparent IFC design overlay or 3D textured mesh.
- Fixed the issue where annotations snapped to a marker annotation’s icon, annotation measurements, or annotation labels.
- Fixed the issue where the web UI’s 3D editor sometimes did not render the highest level of detail available for a 3D textured mesh.
