October 20th, 2025 - PIX4Dcloud Enhancements: Creator Visibility, Extended Processing Time, and Improved 3D Editor Performance

Improvements:

  • A PIX4Dcloud dataset’s details display who created the dataset. 
  • Maximum processing time increased from 48 hours to 72 hours to support larger and more complex datasets. 
  • Gaussian splats are compressed and reordered to improve PIX4Dcloud’s 3D editor performance and rendering quality.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where DXF design overlays moved unexpectedly when the 2D editor was not oriented North.
  • Fixed the issue where the region of interest did not constrain the 2D reconstructions generated with drone images. 
  • Fixed the issue where annotation tools remain active when switching between the 2D and 3D editor, opening another dataset, or opening compare mode.

October 6th, 2025 - ArcGIS Online Export, Gaussian Splats, and Enhanced 3D Editor Tools

  • Increase maximum number of points that can be rendered with 3D editor from 20 million to 60 million points.

  • Fixed the issue where it was not possible to download outputs when the organization owned both a trial and paid license.
  • Fixed the issue where it was not possible to download outputs after the license expired and during the data retention period.

September 17th, 2025 - Improved Processing Success Rate with Complex or Large Datasets

Improvements:

  • Improved processing success rate when processing relatively complex or large datasets.

Bug fixes: 

  • Fixed the issue where the 2D editor was sometimes unresponsive when opening a site with DXF design overlays.
  • Fixed the issue where the Gaussian splats sometimes flickered in the 3D editor when specular reflections was enabled. 
  • Fixed the issue where the region of interest was ignored when generating Gaussian splats.
  • Fixed the issue where 3D editor navigation was sometimes unstable when rendering Gaussian splats. 
  • Fixed the issue where the 2D editor displayed JPEG-compressed orthomosaic GeoTIFFs as opaque when they were uploaded with the dataset creation wizard. 
  • Fixed the issue where processing failed when a tie point was marked in one image.

August 19th, 2025 - PIX4Dcloud Drive's Search Gets a Major Upgrade

Improvements:

  • PIX4Dcloud drive’s search also searches in PIX4Dcloud datasets' notes.

Changes:

  • PIX4Dcloud dataset creation wizard no longer allows uploading multispectral TIFF or SIG images for processing.
  • PIX4Dcloud’s 3D editor and PIX4Dcatch’s PIX4Dcloud AR render Gaussian splats without spherical harmonics or specular reflections by default. They can be enabled in the Gaussian splat layer’s display settings. 

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where the region of interest and requested outputs were ignored when requesting an SLPK point cloud or 3D textured mesh with a compound output coordinate reference system. 
  • Fixed the issue where one or more layers would disappear from the 2D editor in some web browsers when more than 16 design overlays were enabled at the same time.
  • Fixed the issue where the 3D editor rendered Gaussian splats with the wrong color in web browsers on Android mobile devices.
  • Fixed the issue where the 3D editor in web browsers on mobile devices and PIX4Dcatch’s PIX4Dcloud AR did not render the point cloud or 3D textured mesh.

  • Gaussian splats load faster in 3D editor.

  • Fixed the issue where a duplicate PIX4Dcloud dataset was created when the organization had zero credits.

May 30th, 2025 - Improvements to the images attached to annotations

Improvements:

  • Add, replace, and delete images that are attached to annotations with the web UI.

  • All accounts have access to Organization management.
  • Autotag markers are perpendicular to the target when displayed in the 3D editor.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where the creation of an opaque copy of the orthomosaic sometimes failed.
  • Fixed the issue where someone could sometimes continue to access some information and resources after they were removed from an Organization.

May 16th, 2025 - Improvements to the names of files downloaded from a dataset

Improvements:

  • When downloading inputs, outputs, and reconstructions with PIX4Dcloud's web UI, the default file name includes the current name of the PIX4Dcloud dataset and site.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where an account failed to join an organization when it was a member of an organization. 
  • Fixed the issue where the elevation computed for an annotation created with the 2D editor sometimes was less accurate than expected.
  • Fixed the issue where the horizontal position of an annotation created with the 2D editor sometimes moved when it was created or edited for datasets with a compound or vertical coordinate reference system.
  • Fixed the issue where the dataset creation wizard sometimes crashed or froze when uploading a larger number of images.
