App Overview - PIX4Dcatch

• Capture Button : Tap to start taking photos. Once active, a new bar appears with three buttons and an image counter to track the progress.
               

  • Pause: Stop capturing temporarily.

  • Save: Finish and store the project.
  • Cancel: Stop and discard the current scan.
• Image Counter : Displays the total number of photos captured.

• Live Preview : Tap to see a real-time 3D view of the scan. Live data displays raw LiDAR data from the phone. Final results must be processed in PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dcloud.

• Annotation :  Allows you to add an annotation during the image capture process. For more information, visit Annotations - PIX4Dcatch.

• • Filter Dropdown:  By default, it displays All projects. You can tap the dropdown menu to filter your project list by status: Uploads, Collected, Processing, Processed, or All projects.

  • Select:  The Select button located at the top right of the Local tab enables bulk and individual project management. Tapping Select allows you to choose one or more local projects to perform the following actions.

    •  Upload / Multi-Upload: Upload single or multiple selected projects directly to PIX4Dcloud at once. For more information, visit Multi-Project Upload and Project Re-upload - PIX4Dcatch.
    • Delete: Remove single or multiple selected projects permanently from your device memory to free up storage. 
    • Export: Export single or multiple project files to local storage, external drives, or third-party sharing services.
  • Map view : Displays the project on a map view. 
    • View All Projects : Tap the Center Map Icon to zoom out and fit all project pins on one screen.
    •  Locate Me Icon : Tap the Location Map Icon to center the map directly on the user’s current location.

    • Project Icon :  Tap a Project Icon to view a pop-up with the project’s image, status, name, date, and photo count. It also displays icons for RTK/GPS, Autotags, and Annotations.

    • Live Location : Shows the user's live location on the map.

• • Search Projects : Find projects using keywords.

  •  Project Card Quick Menu (⋮): Tap the three dots ⋮ on a project card or press and hold it to open the Manage project menu.
     
    •  Rename: Change the project name. 
    •  Upload to PIX4Dcloud/Re-upload: Upload the dataset to PIX4Dcloud  or Re-upload the project, if it has already been processed on PIX4Dcloud. 
    •  Export data for PIX4Dmatic (OPF): Save project files as a .zip archive for desktop processing in PIX4Dmatic. 
    • Export Point Cloud : Export the point cloud collected by LiDAR or ToF sensors. It can be exported in .PLY and .GLTF formats.
    • Export Logs: Export log files documenting internal project processes—recommended immediately after any issue to avoid logs being overwritten.
    • Delete: Permanently deletes the project.
  • Project Detail: Tapping any project card opens its 3D View and detailed project workspace. The following task can be carried out using the Project.
     
    • Export option: Tap on the export icon on the top right of the screen to view the following options. 
       

      • Export Data for PIX4Dmatic(OPF): Export the complete project in OPF format for PIX4Dmatic. For more information, visit Using OPF from PIX4Dcatch to PIX4Dmatic.

      • Export  Point Cloud (PLY): Export the point cloud collected by LiDAR or ToF sensors.

      • Export Point Cloud (GLTF): Available only if a GLTF point cloud was generated for autotag optimization, volume calculation, or project recovery.

      • Export Logs: Export log files documenting internal project processes—recommended immediately after any issue to avoid logs being overwritten. For more information, visit How to export PIX4Dcatch project and application logs.

• • • Manage Project: Tap on the ⋮ to manage the project.  
      • Rename: Change the project name. 
      • Optimize: Optimize processes detected AutoTags on your device to calculate their exact 3D coordinates and refine the preview point cloud before export or cloud upload. 
      • Re-upload as a new project: Allows the user to reupload the project as a new project and use a different processing option. 
      • Delete: Permanently deletes the project.
        
    • Status Badge: Displays current status—Captured, Processing, or Processed.  
    •  Accuracy Indicator: Indicates whether GPS or RTK was used during acquisition.  
    •  View Tab:
      •  3D View Tab: Visualizes the 3D point cloud collected via LiDAR or photogrammetry. 
      •  Data Tab: Displays the details about the dataset, such as the created date, geolocation sources such as EmlidRX, MiniElf, GPS,  and the coordinate reference system. 
    •  Tools:

      • Volume Computation: Calculate volume measurements on 3D LiDAR data. For more information, visit How to compute a volume - PIX4Dcatch.
      • Annotation: Add an annotation to a project with a description and the option to add images. For more information, visit Annotations - PIX4Dcatch.
    • Upload to PIX4Dcloud/Re-upload: Upload the dataset to PIX4Dcloud  or Re-upload the project, if it has already been processed on PIX4Dcloud.
    • Start AR session: Launches an augmented reality viewing mode that overlays your captured 3D point cloud and mesh directly onto the physical environment in real time. 

PIX4DCloud Projects: The PIX4Dcloud tab provides access to datasets stored within your PIX4Dcloud organization account.

• Change Organization: Switch between different organizations if your account belongs to multiple teams.

•  Search: Use the search bar to find specific projects, sites, or datasets by typing project names or relevant keywords.

•  Filter: Use the filter options to narrow down your view. You can sort and display your content by All, Sites, Folders, or Datasets to quickly navigate large project catalogs.

•  Project: You can tap on any project to view it or select Start AR Session to project the 3D model into the physical environment using Augmented Reality. 

GIS Data:  The GIS Data tab connects and integrates your ArcGIS Online account directly with PIX4Dcatch to access, search, and manage geospatial layers in the field. Logging in with your ArcGIS Online credentials allows you to load organizational feature layers, maps, and feature services. You can display these layers over your 2D project map or live camera view, and visualize the data in Augmented Reality.  

Survey Tab

The Survey tab enables single-point measurements, known as Ground Control Points (GCPs). This tab stores all previous collections and allows you to create new ones. On the right, toggle between a list view and a map view to see the distribution of points.

• • Delete  Collection/ Point:  Press and hold the collection to open a pop-up menu that lets you delete the collection.

Account

Tap the User icon to log in, to view available cloud credits, manage capturing settings, and configure app preferences.
