Project is too big to zip - PIX4Dcloud

When working with very large datasets in PIX4Dcloud, downloading all results at once may fail. This article explains why the Project is too big to zip error occurs and describes how to retrieve the outputs despite this limitation.

Licenses: This article is valid for PIX4Dcloud Starter and PIX4Dcloud Pro licenses.

Roles: Only Owners, Managers, and Editors can download outputs from a dataset in PIX4Dcloud.

Issue Description / Cause

Error Description

For very large projects processed on PIX4Dcloud, the results folder may not be available for download as a single ZIP file. In the Files > Results page, under the Export to PIX4Dmapper section, the following behavior may be observed:

  • The status shows an ERROR label.

  • The message Project is too big to zip is displayed.

  • The Download button is not available.

Cause

The PIX4Dcloud server is unable to compress the entire results folder into a single ZIP file due to its size. This is a technical limitation related to very large output datasets and does not indicate an issue with the project processing itself.

Possible Solutions / Checks

Downloading individual outputs allows access to all generated results even when the full project cannot be zipped for download.
