This article explains the upcoming consolidation of PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey into a single, enhanced application, PIX4Dmatic, and how this change impacts your current license and feature access.

What's changing?
The core change is the unification of the two separate desktop applications into a single product.
- Single application: PIX4Dmatic will become the unified desktop application for both photogrammetry processing and surveying/vectorization workflows.
- New plans: The new PIX4Dmatic plans—Standard, Analyst, and Pro—will replace the former PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey product licenses and reflect your feature access in the unified application.
Impact on your current licenses and feature access
Your current feature access will be preserved under the new PIX4Dmatic plan structure. Starting with PIX4Dmatic 2.0 (available from January 5, 2026), you will use the new PIX4Dmatic versions to access the same features you have today.

- Offline PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey licenses on different computers: PIX4Dmatic Standard access will be seamless, and we will contact you to provide you with PIX4Dmatic Analyst access in the new PIX4Dmatic version.

You automatically will have PIX4Dmatic Standard access. Your PIX4Dmatic license will be transitioned to the PIX4Dmatic Standard plan/license later in 2026.
If I am a PIX4Dsurvey user, what access will I have in PIX4Dmatic starting with version 2.0?
You will automatically have PIX4Dmatic Analyst access. Your PIX4Dmatic license will be transitioned to the PIX4Dmatic Analyst plan/license later in 2026.
If I am a PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey user, what access will I have in PIX4Dmatic starting with version 2.0?
You will automatically have PIX4Dmatic Standard and Analyst accesses. This will allow you to continue parralellizing your work on two different computers. If you want PIX4Dmatic Pro access, you will need to contact us, and more details about the procedure will follow.
If I am a PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey user, do I get PIX4Dmatic Pro access with 2 seats?
No. When moving from PIX4Dmatic (1 seat) + PIX4Dsurvey (1 seat) to PIX4Dmatic Pro, you receive a PIX4Dmatic Pro license with one seat. If you need more seats, you can purchase additional PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey licenses before January 5, 2026, to still benefit from current prices. Or instead, you can choose to keep PIX4Dmatic Standard and PIX4Dmatic Analyst to keep two seats (for two different computers or two access levels on the same computer).
Is it possible to be only a PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey user?
Yes. During 2025, you can work with PIX4Dmatic and/or PIX4Dsurvey. In 2026, you will work with the PIX4Dmatic Analyst plan (PIX4Dsurvey) and with the PIX4Dmatic Standard plan (PIX4Dmatic).
Will the new PIX4Dmatic version 2.0 application be connected to PIX4Dcloud?
Yes, PIX4Dmatic will continue to be connected to PIX4Dcloud, same as PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey are today.
Will my projects stored in PIX4Dcloud be affected by the new platform?
No. Your projects stored in PIX4Dcloud will not be affected.
Is PIX4Dmatic compatible with organization management?
Yes. PIX4Dmatic will continue to operate under the same license scheme as it does today: a license belongs to an organization, where multiple users can be invited to and work with it.
Should I wait until the new platform is released to start working with PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey?
No. You can start working with our solutions today. You can contact our sales team if you are interested in working with our solutions.
Will I be able to open my PIX4Dsurvey projects in PIX4Dmatic?
Yes. Your existing PIX4Dsurvey projects and file formats will remain compatible and can be opened in the unified PIX4Dmatic application under the Analyst or Pro plan.
How do I upgrade from PIX4Dmatic Standard/Analyst to Pro?

If I am a PIX4Dsurvey user, do I receive free access to PIX4Dmatic features?
No. As a PIX4Dsurvey user, you will have access to the PIX4Dmatic Analyst plan. If you also want access to PIX4Dmatic Standard or Pro features, please contact our sales team.
The S&U of my PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey/ PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey license is expired. Can I get access to new plans and PIX4Dmatic 2.0?
To access PIX4Dmatic 2.0 and the new plans, you need an active Support & Updates (S&U) period for your license(s). You can renew S&U in “Manage my account” via this link. In your PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey license, in the Plans and Licenses section in your organization, click Get support and updates.
