This article explains the upcoming consolidation of PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey into a single, enhanced platform, PIX4Dmatic, and how this change impacts your current license and feature access.

What's changing?
The core change is the unification of the two separate desktop applications into a single product.
- Single application: PIX4Dmatic will become the unified desktop application for both photogrammetry processing and surveying/vectorization workflows.
- New plans: New plans—Standard, Analyst, and Pro—will replace the former product licenses to reflect the feature access within the unified PIX4Dmatic application.
Impact on your current licenses and feature access
Your current feature access will be preserved under the new PIX4Dmatic plan structure. You will simply use the new PIX4Dmatic platform to access the features you currently have.
PIX4Dmatic will offer three types of access, corresponding to the license plan.

Next steps
This exciting unification is scheduled to occur for the first PIX4Dmatic preview of next year, currently set to be released during the week of January 5, 2026.

If I am a PIX4Dsurvey user, what solution will I work on in 2026?
If you are a PIX4Dsurvey user, you will become a PIX4Dmatic Analyst user in 2026. You will be able to download PIX4Dmatic 2.0. Your PIX4Dsurvey license will automatically be a PIX4Dmatic Analytic license in 2026.
If I am a PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey user, what solution will I work with in 2026?
If you are a PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey user, you will be able to access PIX4Dmatic Analyst and Standard separately. To become a PIX4Dmatic Pro user in 2026, please contact the Technical support team through Pixie, our AI chatbot.
If I am a PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey user, do I get PIX4Dmatic Pro with 2 seats? If you are a PIX4matic and PIX4Dsurvey user, you can either have a PIX4Dmatic Pro license with one seat. You can choose to keep the PIX4Dmatic Analyst and Standard access to keep two seats, to use on two different computers (or switch between the two access levels within the application).
Is it possible to be only a PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey user?
Yes. During 2025, you can work/start working with PIX4Dmatic and/or PIX4Dsurvey. In 2026, you will work with the PIX4Dmatic Analyst plan (PIX4Dsurvey) and with the PIX4Dmatic Standard plan (PIX4Dmatic).
Will the new PIX4Dmatic platform be connected to PIX4Dcloud? Yes, the PIX4Dmatic platform will be connected to PIX4Dcloud, same as PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey are today.
Will my projects stored in PIX4Dcloud be affected by the new platform?
No. There will not be any effect on your projects stored in PIX4Dcloud
Is PIX4Dmatic compatible with organization management?
Yes. PIX4Dmatic will continue to operate under the same license scheme as it does today: a license belongs to an organization, where multiple users can be invited to and work with it.
Should I wait until the new platform is released to start working with PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey?
No. You can start working with our solutions today. You can contact our sales team if you are interested in working with our solutions.
Will I be able to open my PIX4Dsurvey projects in PIX4Dmatic?
Your existing PIX4Dsurvey projects and file formats will remain compatible and openable within the new unified PIX4Dmatic application, available under the Analyst or Pro plan.
How do I upgrade from PIX4Dmatic Standard/Analyst to Pro?
Contact our sales team or, in 2026, you will be able to log in to your Pix4D account to easily upgrade your plan and gain access to all features.
If I am a PIX4Dsurvey user, do I receive free access to PIX4Dmatic features?
No. If you are a PIX4Dsurvey user, you will have access to the PIX4Dmatic Analyst plan. If you also want to access PIX4Dmatic features, please contact our sales team or, in 2026, you will be able to log in to your Pix4D account to easily upgrade your plan and gain access to all features.
The S&U of my PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey/ PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey license is expired. Can I get access to new plans and PIX4Dmatic 2.0? To have access to PIX4Dmatic 2.0 you need to renew the S&U of your license/s. You can renew the S&U in "Manage my account" at this link. In your PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey license, in the section "Plans and Licenses" in your organization, click on “Get support and updates”.
