Custom Processing templates - PIX4Dmatic

The custom processing templates feature streamlines project setup and ensures consistency across similar projects while allowing easy sharing.

Description

The custom processing templates feature, introduced in version 1.67.0, allows for predefined project settings to be saved, reused, and shared. It streamlines project setup by applying consistent parameters to projects with similar characteristics, reducing manual input and minimizing errors. Templates can be easily shared, enabling collaboration and maintaining standardization across teams. This feature is ideal for recurring workflows and projects requiring uniform processing settings.

How to

The first step is to select the desired processing settings across the processing steps:

  • Open a PIX4Dmatic project
  • Navigate to Processing settings  processing_options
  • Set the processing settings only for the processing steps needed: For example, it is possible to set the Calibration settings (Pipeline, image scale), the Dense point cloud (Algorithm, Image scale), and DSM (Resolution, Interpolation) without enabling the Mesh or the Orthomosaic.
  • Select the Template manager button list_view
  • Click on Save as template
  • Add a Name and a Description (optional) for easier management

Template manager

The default and the custom templates are available in the Template manager:

The Processing template manager looks like this:

This window displays the Title, the Description, and the Last modified date and time for the custom templates. The blue dot indicates the active processing template and the grey one indicates the default processing template set by the user.

Import/Export

The Processing template manager gives the option to import and export a custom processing template. The file format for this is .json.

To import a custom template:

  • Click on the Import template button
  • Navigate to and select the custom template (.json file)
  • Click Open

After importing, the new custom template will be displayed including the Title and the Description.

To export a custom processing template:

  • Click on the three dots on the right side more_vertical-1
  • Click on Export
  • (Optional) Name the .json file before clicking Save to the desired location

It is also possible to Set as default, Apply (set as currently active), and Delete a custom template by clicking on the three dots on the right side more_vertical-1
