Once a PIX4Dcatch project has been captured, it can be processed using one of the following workflows:

  • PIX4Dcloud –  Upload easily online and process the project in the cloud for fast, shareable results.
  • PIX4Dmatic – Export the project and process it locally on a desktop computer for advanced workflows and greater control.

Process in  PIX4Dcloud

PIX4Dcloud allows you to upload PIX4Dcatch projects easily and process them online to generate fast, shareable results.

1. Tap the Project folder at the bottom of the screen.

4. Select the desired processing options before uploading the project for processing. For more information, visit PIX4Dcloud processing options in PIX4Dcatch.

5. Tap the Upload icon to start uploading the project to PIX4Dcloud.

After all images are uploaded and processing begins, a notification email is sent. A second email is sent once processing is complete, and the processed results can then be viewed in the app or directly in PIX4Dcloud.

PIX4Dcatch also supports multi-project uploads, background uploads, and reuploads to PIX4Dcloud. For detailed information, visit PIX4Dcatch Cloud Upload Feature.

  • Multi-upload projects: Upload multiple projects to PIX4Dcloud at the same time.
  • Background upload: Continue using the app while uploads run in the background.
  • Reupload projects: Reupload projects with different processing options.

Process in PIX4Dmatic

To process a PIX4Dcatch dataset in PIX4Dmatic, first export the project from the PIX4Dcatch app and then import it into the PIX4Dmatic software for processing.

1. Export from PIX4Dcatch:  Projects captured with PIX4Dcatch can be exported as an OPF (Optimized Project Format) file and then imported into PIX4Dmatic. OPF is the recommended format because it packages all required project data, ensuring a complete and error-free transfer. For details, see  How to export PIX4Dcatch projects (iOS/Android).

2. Process in PIX4Dmatic:  Import the OPF file into PIX4Dmatic and use the PIX4Dcatch processing template, which automatically applies the recommended settings for terrestrial datasets to generate accurate point clouds, meshes, and other outputs.  For the complete workflow, refer to How to process PIX4Dcatch datasets in PIX4Dmatic.

Note: A PIX4Dcatch, PIX4Dcloud, PIX4Dmatic, or PIX4Dmapper license with a valid Support & Upgrade (S&U) is required to export the project data from the PIX4Dcatch app.
