After a PIX4Dcatch project is captured, it can be processed as a 3D model using several options: directly uploading and processing to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced for the most immediate results, or exporting the project and processing locally using PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dmapper.

For fast results, uploading and processing to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced can be done at the simple click of a button and provide quick shareable 3D reconstructions.
Upload from the Project View
It is possible to upload directly to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced for processing after capturing the project. In the project view, do the following:
- At the top of the screen, tap the blue Upload button

- To select the project processing options, please click here.
- After all images are uploaded and processing begins, a first email notification is sent.
- After the processing is finished, a second email notification is sent.
- The processed results can be viewed directly in the app and shared on PIX4Dcloud.
Upload from the Project Dashboard
It is also possible to upload directly to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced from the project dashboard. The project dashboard lists all of the projects taken on the mobile device.
- Tap the folder icon
to access the project dashboard.
- Tap and hold on the desired project to access the menu.
- Tap Upload.
- To select the project processing options, please click here.
- After all images are uploaded and processing begins, a first email notification is sent.
- After the processing is finished, a second email notification is sent.
- The processed results can be viewed directly in the app and shared on PIX4Dcloud.
Upload Processing Options
After tapping Upload, the Upload Dataset window appears providing further processing options: Account and Organization, Project Cost and Account Balance, Cloud Processing Options. Each option is described in the table below.
Processing Options
Description
- Measure Volumes and Elevation Profiles: Select the option to generate a DSM.
- 2D Map: Select the option to generate an Orthomosaic.
- Output CRS: Select the output coordinate reference system (CRS) to use. If GCPs are included in the project, this option will locked to the GCPs' CRS.
- Auto-Detected: the default option, automatically detected
- Known CRS: select a specific CRS
- Site Localization: select a local coordinate system
Multi-upload to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced
From the project dashboard, you can also upload multiple projects simultaneously.
- Tap the folder icon
to access the project dashboard.
- In the upper right of the screen, click on Select.
- Click on multiple projects.
- In the lower left of the screen, click on the upload icon
- To select the project processing options, please click here. The processing options and CRS will be applied to all the projects.
- After all images are uploaded and processing begins, a first email notification is sent for each individual project.
- After the processing is finished, a second email notification is sent for each individual project.
- The processed results can be viewed directly in the app and shared on PIX4Dcloud.
- the projects have different processing options
- the projects have different CRS
- one project was already uploaded and another project is resumed
- the projects have GCPs and marks
Adding Records to Your Upload
When uploading a project to PIX4Dcloud / PIX4Dcloud Advanced, you now have the option to add Records, allowing you to include relevant information about the project. This feature enables users to document key details such as project purpose, location context, or specific notes for team collaboration.
How to Add Records:
- In the Upload Project screen, locate the Records section.
- Tap the text box labeled "Add relevant information of the project...".
- Enter any important descriptions or comments related to the dataset.
- Proceed with the upload by tapping Next.
This feature improves project organization and communication, ensuring all necessary details are stored alongside the uploaded dataset.
Note: The records can be visualized and edited in the project details section of PIX4Dcloud.
- Export the project files from PIX4Dcatch. For more information, please refer to How to export PIX4Dcatch projects (iOS/Android).
- Create a new project and start processing.

- You can also upload the results to PIX4Dsurvey or PIX4Dcloud. For more information, please refer to How to import a PIX4Dmatic project into PIX4Dsurvey or How to upload or replace results to PIX4Dcloud.
- After the processing is finished, the results are available for further analysis in third-party reality capture/CAD/BIM software.
