The Timeline in PIX4Dcloud Pro provides a visual way to analyze site progress over time by switching between datasets captured on different dates. This article explains how to access the Timeline, navigate between datasets, edit capture dates, and interpret dataset statuses.

Licenses: This article is only valid for PIX4Dcloud Pro licenses. (formaly PIX4Dcloud Advanced)

Roles: Owners, Managers, Editors, and Readers can navigate the Timeline in a dataset in PIX4Dcloud.

Video tutorial:

Accessing the Timeline

From the Drive, click Open on a site. The Timeline appears at the top of the project page.

Important: The Timeline is not available for datasets that are not assigned to a site. For more information, see how to assign a dataset to a site.

PIX4Dcloud Pro automatically assigns a capture date and time to each dataset based on when it was uploaded to the Drive. In the Timeline, datasets belonging to the same site are displayed chronologically from left to right.

Editing the Capture Date

To update the capture date or time of a dataset:

  1. Open the project page.

  2. Click Change capture date.

  3. In the dialog, select a new capture date and capture time.

  4. Click Save.

Navigating the Timeline

To move through the Timeline:

  • Scroll the mouse wheel up or down.

  • Click and drag the Timeline horizontally.

The dataset currently displayed in the 2D/3D editor is highlighted in blue in the Timeline.

To switch datasets, click the thumbnail of another dataset. When switching datasets using the Timeline:

  • The same view and vantage point are preserved.

  • In the 2D view, the same zoom level is maintained.
