Storage expiration policy - PIX4Dcloud

Follow

After one of the following licenses expires, all projects that were created on PIX4Dcloud with the associated Pix4D account are deleted based on the PIX4Dcloud storage expiration policy. This means the datasets are not accessible anymore. For more information on the feature availability before and after the license expires, please read: Feature availability - PIX4Dcloud and PIX4Dcloud Advanced

  • A PIX4Dinspect trial
  • A PIX4Dinspect rental license
  • A PIX4Dcloud Advanced trial
  • A PIX4Dcloud/PIX4Dcloud Advanced rental license/subscription
  • A PIX4Dengine Cloud trial
  • A PIX4Dengine Cloud rental license
  • A PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey/PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact perpetual license with a valid Support and Upgrade (S&U)
  • A PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey trial license
  • A PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact trial license
  • A PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey/PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact rental license/subscription

If none of the above licenses is valid (a perpetual PIX4Dmapper license requires valid Support & Updates), projects are deleted:

  • For trials, 30 days after the end of the license validity.
  • For all monthly, yearly, and perpetual licenses and subscriptions, 6 months after the end of the license/subscription validity.

Notification emails are sent to inform users:

  • 30 days, 7 days, and 1 day before proceeding with the deletion, for all expired monthly, yearly, and perpetual licenses and subscriptions
  • 7 days, and 1 day before proceeding with the deletion, for expired trials

Example: A user creates a project with a PIX4Dcloud Advanced trial and, 20 days after the trial expiration date, the user buys a monthly PIX4Dcloud license: the project will not be removed. However, if the user buys the monthly license after 31 days the trial expired, the project will be deleted and will not be accessible anymore.

I need to run some autonomus captures once the weather clears up which maybe two months in Chicago.  How do I test the product again?  The captures I had are not suitable to allow me to approve buying subscription as of yet.  I will need the capture and mapping modules again. I believe it cost about 300 per month. Am I correct in assuming if I have a lapse of more then 30 days when licensed all my project will be deleted?  Seems like a poor marketing plan.

Hi Paul. I'm not sure I understand. If the projects you currently have are not suitable then why would you want to retain them? We absolutely want to empower you to explore Pix4D to see what it can do for you. You can extend your trial once you have a chance to test by going to license management in the cloud. You can also download any images or data outputs produced in the cloud that you want to save. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hi,

I've tried to download the project before deletion, and it doesn't allows me to download the point cloud and the geotiff + .tfw + .prj.

These are the most important products of the project. Why shouldn't I have permission to download it.

I tried to download it after the last warning. the project will be deleted tomorrow,

    Hi Isaak,

Could you retry again downloading the files now? If you still cannot download the outputs, you will receive an email soon with a link to a OneDrive folder where I am putting the files you need (please check also the spam box, if you can't find it in your inbox).

Hi - are the uploaded images deleted after the specified time periods, as well as the processed projects?

  • Kapil (Pix4D)

    Hi Caroline,

After six months of the expiry of the Support & Updates of an OTC, monthly or yearly license, all projects and uploaded images that were created on Pix4D Cloud with the associated Pix4D account are deleted based on our retention policy. However, if you renew your support and updates within the six months of the expiration of your license, they won't be deleted.

If my license expires, can I still access my projects? I know they will be retained for 6 months, but I would like to be able to access them during that time period.

  • Alex Abatie

Please answer my question soon! I have emailed customer support twice in the past week and have received no response. I need to know if my projects - along with their annotations - will be saved. I know I will be billed tomorrow if I don't cancel.

  • Alice (Pix4D)

    Hi Alex,

I share the reply I provided to you in the personal ticket also here so that other users can see the answer. Within the six months of the expiration of your license, you will be able to access the projects you have already created and to add measurements to your project.

    Hello,

I am attempting to retrieve/download photos from Pix4d that I uploaded to create a map a few months ago.  I am not aloud to do so and am getting a message that says "You don't have enough privileges to request this output."  My account has expired, however it has not exceeded 6 months yet so I'm wondering why this is so.  Can you help with this issue so i am able to retrieve my photos?

    Hi Jon,

I investigate and I could reproduce what you are experiencing. All your projects are still on the Cloud but for some reason, the images can not be downloaded. We have shared this with the developers.
In the meantime, we can do it manually. For what projects would you need the images?

    Best,

    Hello Susan,

Please do not hesitate to write us a ticket for your request so that we can share information with the privacy that is needed here. For example, it would help us to know the names/ID of the projects that you can not access anymore.

    Hi,

I have projects save under pix4dmapper cloud previously. if i sign up for pix4dreact within the 180days, will my previous data under pix4dmapper be retained?

  • Kapil (Pix4D)

    Hi Tan,

If you previously had monthly, yearly, and OTC licenses, you will have no access to the projects, six months after the end of the validity of the license. However, renewing the Pix4Dreact within 180 days won't be helpful. You have to renew the monthly, yearly, or OTC license for Pix4Dmapper.

    Regards,

    Hi,

If I send a link to my client from Pix4Dcloud, will the client lose access to the information I sent her if my license expires? Thanks.

    Doug

  • Fernanda Bosmediano

    Hi Douglas,

Yes, if your license expires, the projects associated with your account will be deleted after some time. Therefore the link will also be valid for a specific time.

The link will be available for 30 days after the end of the license validity for trial licenses, 6 months after the end of the license validity for all monthly, yearly, and perpetual licenses.

    Regards,

Hello. If I only want to activate the option to edit and not to create projects in a period of time, what should I do, what kind of license should I pay for?

  • Alice (Pix4D)

    Hello Carlos,

Which edits do you need to make to your projects? You should be able to add/import/export annotations but you will not be able to upload new outputs and request for zipped outputs after the license expires. Notice that 6 months after the license expires, your projects will be deleted without a valid license. We do not have a read-only license at the moment. If you subscribe to a new Pix4Dcloud/Pix4Dcloud Advanced plan within these 6 months, you will be able to keep your projects, add/replace new outputs and such.
