Floating license - PIX4Dmapper

This article explains the concept of a floating license in PIX4Dmapper.

 

Note: A Pix4D license is a floating license. Taking the PIX4Dmapper as an example, it allows a user to log out of PIX4Dmapper on one computer and log into PIX4Dmapper on another. A user does not need to uninstall PIX4Dmapper to move their license to a new computer. In the example of PIX4Dmapper, a user can also deactivate a device remotely if the remote device deactivation feature is enabled. For more information: Remote device deactivation - PIX4Dmapper

Amount of license seats

A user's Pix4D license can activate on a certain number of computers simultaneously:

Note: Classroom licenses for Educational institutions can have more license seats.

How to work with PIX4Dmapper on different devices

It is possible to work with PIX4Dmapper on several devices as long as the number of license seats is not exceeded.

Troubleshooting

  • If you don't have access to a device where your PIX4Dmapper license is active, please use the Remote device deactivation feature.
  • If you are automatically logged in on the Discovery license, you need to log out and log in again.
