How to use Ground Control Points (GCPs) for processing on PIX4Dcloud
There are several ways to process datasets with Ground Control Points (GCPs) or checkpoints on PIX4Dcloud, depending on the type of license and the software used to create the dataset.
License and Role Information
| Software Used | License Required | Where GCPs Are Marked | Upload for Processing |
|---|---|---|---|
| PIX4Dcloud | Pro | During dataset creation | Directly in PIX4Dcloud |
| PIX4Dcatch | Starter or Pro | In PIX4Dcatch | Uploaded to PIX4Dcloud |
| PIX4Dmatic | Starter or Pro | In PIX4Dmatic | Uploaded to PIX4Dcloud |
| PIX4Dmapper | Starter or Pro | In PIX4Dmapper | Uploaded to PIX4Dcloud |
Roles: Only Owners, Managers, and Editors can process a dataset.
In the case of PIX4Dmapper, only Owners and Managers can upload a dataset to PIX4Dcloud
Using a PIX4Dcloud Advanced License
When using a PIX4Dcloud Pro license, GCPs and checkpoints can be managed directly in the dataset creation workflow on PIX4Dcloud.
-
The control point coordinates are provided during the dataset creation wizard.
-
The corresponding targets in the images are automatically detected and marked using AutoGCP.
This method offers an efficient and streamlined workflow fully integrated within PIX4Dcloud.
Using Other Pix4D Software (PIX4Dcatch, PIX4Dmatic, or PIX4Dmapper)
Datasets created with other Pix4D applications can also be processed with GCPs or checkpoints on PIX4Dcloud. This workflow is available with a PIX4Dcloud Starter license and does not require the Pro tier.
