The Distant Outlier Filter detects points that are isolated from the main scene in all point clouds and recycles them.
The removed points are not used in further steps such as the terrain classification.

Tip: It is recommended to run the
Distant Outlier Filter before generating other results. For example, outliers in the point cloud can greatly influence the
Terrain Filter process. Removing outliers will improve results.
Note: The
Distant Outlier Filter focuses on finding points that are isolated and far away from the point cloud. It therefore cannot be used to filter out noise in the main body of the point cloud.
