What is Organization management?
The Organization management feature allows Pix4D users to work within an Organization environment with an assigned role.
How many users can an Organization have?
There is no limit to the number of users in an Organization.
How do I know if I already belong to an Organization?
If by accessing the following link: https://account.pix4d.com/home, under Home you can see the following options:
- Create an Organization, or
- The list of Organizations to which the user account belongs is displayed, or
- The Organization switcher is available next to the user icon in the top right corner.
If none of the above options are visible, then your user account does not belong to/does not have Organization management enabled.
How to request access to the Organization management?
Contact our Customer Success team at the following link: https://www.pix4d.com/support/. When opening a support ticket, in the Product field, select “Organization management.”
How many licenses can an Organization have?
All Pix4D solutions are compatible with Organization management. You can have as many licenses as you want for PIX4Dmatic, PIX4Dsurvey, PIX4Dreacts, PIX4Dmapper, and PIX4Dcatch, but you can only have one PIX4Dcloud/PIX4Dcloud Advanced license per organization.
Can I join an organization if I don't have a Pix4D account?
Yes, once you are invited to an organization, you will receive an email.
- Within the email, click Accept invitation.
Note that this will direct you to the Pix4D login page. - Click Create an account.
How can I purchase licenses within an Organization?
Only Owners are allowed to purchase licenses on behalf of the Organization.
- Access https://account.pix4d.com/home.
- Click Plans and Licenses > My Plans.
- Click Shop products.
Can a license be shared between different Organizations?
No, a license is owned by only one organization. Note that the Organization owns the license, not the users.
Can I transfer the licenses between Organizations?
No, this is not supported.

How can I create an Organization?

Can I delete my Organization?
Only Owner roles can delete an Organization. Deleting an Organization is an irreversible process; once deleted, it is not possible to access the projects or access the licenses that the Organization previously had.
To delete an Organization:
- Log in with the Pix4D credentials in account.pix4d.com.
- Click Organization settings > My Organization.
- Click Delete my organization.
- Type DELETE.
- Click Delete.
How to Invite Users to an Organization
Only Owners and Managers are allowed to invite new Users to an Organization.
- In your organization's home section, under Build your team, click Manage People.
- Under Organization settings, click Invite people.
- Add the email address and the Organization role.
- Click Send.
The invited Users will get an email to accept the invitation.
How can roles be managed within an Organization?
The management of roles within the Organization depends on the role hierarchy.
That is, the Owner can promote or demote the roles of all users of the Organization. Managers can manage the roles of Editor and Reader, but not of other Managers.
To access the list of roles of the Organization:
- Log in to https://account.pix4d.com/home with the Pix4D credentials.
- (optional) Choose your Organization if you belong to more than one.
- Click Organization settings > People.
What is a Default Organization?
It determines the default organization the User will work on in case the User belongs to more than one. When logging into PIX4Dmapper, the user can only select the licenses associated with the default organization.
How to set the Default Organization
If your user account belongs to more than one Organization to define the default organization:
- Login https://account.pix4d.com/home
- Click Account settings.
- Under Account details > Personal preference > Default organization, expand all the options.
- Select the Organization you want to set as Default.
[PIX4Dcloud] How many credits do I have available to process a project?
- Login https://cloud.pix4d.com/drive
- Click on the icon Balance.
[PIX4Dcloud] How can I buy credits for my Organization?
Only Owners can buy credits on behalf of the Organization.
- Click Credit transactions.
- Select a credit package.
- Click Buy xx credits.
[PIX4Dcloud] Why can't I process the project with PIX4Dcloud?
There are several reasons why a project cannot be processed. Please check the following aspects:
- Your Organization has a valid PIX4Dcloud/PIX4Dcloud Advanced license.
- Your Organization has enough credits to process a project.
- Your role within the Organization allows you to process projects in PIX4Dcloud.
- You have selected as Default Organization one that has a PIX4Dcloud license.
[PIX4Dcloud] What is my Organization's credit history?
Only the Owner can access to this information.
- Login https://account.pix4d.com/home
- Click Credit transaction.
- See Credit history section at the bottom of page.
[PIX4Dcloud] Can credits be transferred within Organizations?
Transfer of credits between Organizations is not supported.
[PIX4Dmapper] How to log in to a PIX4Dmapper license inside an Organization?
After logging into PIX4Dmapper, the Welcome page will display the license keys and the number of available seats for the Default Organization.
If when you log in, you do not have any available licenses, then it is possible that you are in one of the following cases:
- Your Organization does not have a valid PIX4Dmapper license assigned to it or
- If you belong to more than one Organization, the Default Organization you are currently logged into does not have a PIX4Dmapper license. In this case, you can change the Default Organization by following the instructions below: How to set the Default Organization?
You can also access the Account settings to see the number of PIX4Dmapper licenses and seats available for the Organization.
[PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey] How many seats are available to access my license?
The available seats are listed in Organization > Plans and licenses.
Αlternatively, the available seats are within PIX4Dmatic/PIX4Dsurvey. Click on the Account icon on the top-right corner and then Device Manager.
[PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact] How many seats are available to access my license?
The number of seats per license is available when logging in.
Most commercial licenses have one seat available.
[PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact] Can I free up a seat (deactivate a device) when a colleague is logged in?
There is no remote device deactivation. Each user should log out after using the license; otherwise, it will be locked.
[PIX4Dfields/PIX4Dreact] When I log in to a shared machine, I can’t see the projects a colleague processed. Why?
This is due to a limitation on PIX4Dfield’s side. When logging in, it will show projects that were processed by the logged user.
[PIX4Dcatch] How do I know which organization I am currently logged into?
Access Account settings, and then you will see your organization.
Under Plans and Licenses, you can check your current subscription and active devices available.
[PIX4Dcatch] What features in PIX4Dcatch take a seat from the license?
All premium features:
- Connect to an RTK antenna.
- Enable Tie Points and GCPs Auto-detection.
- Export project Images, PointCloud, GCP collection, Site-Localization collection, GCPs points and Marks, and Tie points and Marks.
- Upload project to PIX4Dcloud.
- Use AR Points and Settings
- To access PIX4Dcloud AR with or without an RTK connection
[PIX4Dcatch] Can another user in the Organization use the PIX4Dcatch license if I am logged in?
A PIX4Dcatch professional license can be used for as many users as seats/licenses are in the Organization.
You can release a seat in PIX4Dcatch; to do so, go to the Account settings, click on the Organization, and click Release.
Warning: Please notice that every 12 hours the seat is released for PIX4Dcatch if the application is not used.
[PIX4Dcatch] Can I upload a PIX4Dcatch project to a specific PIX4Dcloud Site?
Only Organizations with PIX4Dcloud Advanced licenses can upload a PIX4Dcatch project to a Site. You can assign the captured project to an existing Site by switching to the "Assign to" tab during the upload process.
