How to use a discrete graphics card (Windows 10 and Windows 11) - PIX4Dmatic

Using a discrete graphics card can be beneficial for several PIX4Dmatic processes and leads to better performances in processing and a more responsive user interface.
We suggest enabling PIX4Dmatic to use the real graphic card on your Windows device. Please proceed with the following steps:

For Windows 10

  1. Open the settings of your device (menu Start > Gear symbol).

  2. Click on System.

  3. Make sure Display is selected in the left sidebar.

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Display settings page and click Graphics settings.

  5. Make sure that Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is set to On and click on. You might need to restart your device if you just enabled the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.

  6. If PIX4Dmatic is not in the provided list, select Desktop app, click on Browse, and select PIX4Dmatic.exe, which should be located in C:\Program Files\PIX4Dmatic\.

  7. Click on the newly added PIX4Dmatic and then click on Options and then select High performance.

  8. Click Save.

  9. PIX4Dmatic is now listed as using the High performance preference.

For Windows 11

  1. Open the settings of your device (menu Start > Gear symbol).

  4. On the Display page, scroll down and click on Graphics under the Related settings.

  5. Click on Change default graphics settings under the Default settings.

  6. Make sure that the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling switch is set to On. You might need to restart your device if you just enabled the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.

  7. Go back to Graphics and if PIX4Dmatic is not in the provided list, select Desktop app, click on Browse, and select PIX4Dmatic.exe, which should be located in C:\Program Files\PIX4Dmatic\.

  8. Click on the newly added PIX4Dmatic and then click on Options and then select High performance.

  10. PIX4Dmatic is now listed as using the High performance preference.
