Field boundary creation

Import field boundaries as shapefile or GeoJSON

To import field boundaries as shapefile:

1. After importing images the option to import field boundaries is available.
2. To import a field boundary, click the FIELD BOUNDARIES menu, then click Import field boundary.
3. Navigate to the folder containing the file and select it.
4. Click Open.
5. The prompt Do you want to trim the layers intersecting the border? appears, check the box(es) beside the layer(s) to be trimmed.
6. Click TRIM.

Draw field boundaries

To draw a custom polygon field boundary:

1. After importing images the option to draw field boundary is available.
2. To draw a field boundary, click the FIELD BOUNDARIES menu, then click Draw field boundary.
3. A square with dots at every four corners appears on the map.
4. (optional) Edit the field boundary.
5. In the right sidebar,  below BOUNDARY renamed the boundary to a meaningful name.
6. In the EDIT BOUNDARY section of the sidebar, toggle on Trim layers.
7. Click DONE at the bottom of the right sidebar.
8. The prompt Do you want to trim the layers intersecting the border? appears, check the box(es) beside the layer(s) to be trimmed.
9. Click TRIM.

Reuse field boundaries

To reuse a field boundary:

1. After importing or creating a new boundary the option to reuse a field boundary is available.
2. Below the FIELD BOUNDARIES menu select the field boundary to be reused.
3. Click the FIELD BOUNDARIES menu, then click Reuse field boundary.
4. A new boundary equal to the selected boundary will be created.
5. In the EDIT BOUNDARY section of the sidebar, toggle on Trim layers.
6. (optional) Edit the field boundary.
7. Click DONE at the bottom of the right sidebar.
8. The prompt Do you want to trim the layers intersecting the border? appears, check the box(es) beside the layer(s) to be trimmed.
9. Click TRIM.

Trim layers

To trim layers with an imported shapefile, GeoJSON or custom drawn field boundary:

1. The prompt Do you want to trim the layers intersecting the border? appears automatically when importing or drawing a field boundary.
2. (optional) Check the box(es) beside the layer(s) to be trimmed.
3. Click TRIM.

 
Note: Once a field boundary has been imported or drawn, it is available on the left sidebar under FIELD BOUNDARIES. Click the scissors icon to trim.

Edit field boundaries

To edit field boundaries:

1. Click the pen icon of the field boundary you want to edit.
2. Move the corners by dragging the dots with your mouse.
3. Click the “plus” sign to create more corners or vertices.
4. To remove a vertex, drag the dot of the vertex you would like to delete on top of any other dot. Wait until a red halo appears around the selected vertex then release the mouse button.
5. Move the whole polygon by clicking the multi-directional arrow in the center and dragging it.
6. In the EDIT BOUNDARY section of the sidebar, toggle on Trim layers.
7. Edit the vertices in the map interface, then click DONE.
8. The prompt Do you want to trim the layers intersecting the border? appears, check the box(es) beside the layer(s) to be trimmed.
9. Click TRIM.

Delete field boundaries

To delete field boundaries:

1. Click the trash bin icon of the field boundary you want to remove.
2. Click YES in the confirmation box.

 
Note: the layers that have been trimmed still remain. All the layers have a trash bin icon next to them which you can use to permanently delete a layer.
