How to enable the remote device deactivation
New PIX4Dmapper licenses will have the Remote device deactivation option enabled by default. Previously acquired PIX4Dmapper licenses will have to enable this feature manually.
To enable the Remote device deactivation feature:
- Open PIX4Dmapper.
- Log out of PIX4Dmapper from all active devices. For more information see How to log out PIX4Dmapper.
- Go to the Licenses panel.
- In the PIX4Dmapper license, next to the Remote device deactivation, click the checkbox Enabled (the number of active devices should be 0).
- Now launch PIX4Dmapper again.
Important: The deactivation button on the old license manager page (https://cloud.pix4d.com/account/licenses/) no longer works. Please use the new Licenses panel.
How to deactivate a device remotely
Once the Remote device deactivation feature is enabled, a device can be deactivated remotely as needed.
To remotely deactivate a computer:
- Go to the Licenses panel.
- Identify the PIX4Dmapper license and the seat that needs deactivation.
- In the Active devices section, click Deactivate Device .
- (Optional) Contact us if a Pix4D license is occupied by a device that cannot be remotely deactivated or from which logging out is impossible.
Note: The device must connect to the Internet at least once every 30 days, or it will be automatically deactivated. The Device deactivation date refers to the date 30 days after the last connection to the internet. This time shows when the software will request the next login. The Device deactivation date is not related to the validity period of the license.
How to deactivate a device that cannot be deactivated using the remote device deactivation option
If the Deactivate device button does not appear near your device in the Active devices list (screenshot below), it means that, most likely, the device was still active while the Remote device deactivation option has been enabled. Please log out from this device and enable the remote deactivation option again.
If you don't have access to this device, you can ask the support team to manually deactivate it from your license. Please open a support ticket here. Make sure to select device deactivation as a topic/product.
Note: Users without Support and Upgrade (S&U) can still open a support ticket if device deactivation is selected as topic/product.
