Software download and installation - PIX4Dmapper

This article explains how to download, install, change the language settings, access upgrades, and enable remote device deactivation when using PIX4Dmapper. At any given time there are two versions of PIX4Dmapper available to download.

  • PIX4Dmapper Stable: This version is meant for production work.
  • PIX4Dmapper Preview: This version contains the newest features, but is not meant for production work.

Download

To download the software:

  1. Go to PIX4Dmapper download page.
  2. Download PIX4Dmapper Stable or PIX4Dmapper Preview.

Installation

Once the software has been downloaded, install it by the steps below:

  1. Double-click the downloaded file. The PIX4Dmapper Setup wizard starts.
  2. (optional) If the pop-up Open file - Security Warning appears, click Run.
  3. In the pop-up PIX4Dmapper Setup, in the screen Welcome to the PIX4Dmapper Setup Wizard, click Next.
  4. (optional) Click Change... to change the destination path for the installation and click Next.
  5. Click Install.
  6. (optional) In the software information window: "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click Yes.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. A shortcut is created on the desktop and the software opens automatically once the installation is completed.
  9. The first time the software opens, the window PIX4Dmapper Login appears:

    Logging in to PIX4Dmapper by using the Pix4D account credentials.

  10. Read the End-User License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and click Next.
  11. Type the Email and Password of the account and click Login
  12. Select one of these options:

12.1 Use PIX4Ddiscovery to activate the limited version.
12.2 Available licenses to select among existing licenses on the account.

13. Click OK.

PIX4Dmapper is now ready for processing.

Language settings

The language setting on PIX4Dmapper can be changed at any time:

  1. Start PIX4Dmapper.
  2. On the menu bar, click Help > Settings…
    PIX4Dmapper settings

    Select Settings under the Help tab.

  3. In the window Settings, select the tab Language
    PIX4Dmapper language


    Select a preferred language from the Language tab.

    4. Click OK.

The changes will take effect when the software is restarted.

Upgrades

The most recent PIX4Dmapper Stable and PIX4Dmapper Preview versions are always available for download from the PIX4Dmapper download page and PIX4Dmapper technical release notes. Additionally, if a new stable version of PIX4Dmapper is available, a pop-up Software Upgrades with three options is displayed when the software is opened:

Click on a preferred action.

  • Download and Install Now: To download and install the latest version available.
  • Remind Me Later : To postpone the download or installation of the latest version. The pop-up will appear again in 10 days.

Enabling remote device deactivation

In order to deactivate a device remotely, remote device deactivation needs to be enabled first.

    Hi, i have a perpetual license of pix4d desktop, my problem is that the last device user is broken, and it looks like I´m not able to deactivate it. I would like to know if you can support me to fix it, My user account is uise.nuevoleon.gob.mx and the device name that is causing me troubles is LAPTOP-CTEQARN5.

    Is there a mechanism to prevent the check and prompting of updates for a lab environment? We don't want the users seeing the upgrade prompt and trying to perform the update.

    Hola, Pix4mapper ya no se desarrolla en una version macOS. Tenemos una version de Pix4Dmapper que funciona en macOS (Pix4Dmapper 3) que es bastente antigua y no se soporta oficilamente pero tenemos usuarios que la utllizen.     Like Sedagro NL I have a perpetual license I lost the hard drive on the one device and I cannot deactivate it the Device 11471-PC. I have another device but it cannot log into Pix4d due a server communications error to the so I cannot use it or deactivate it either. Device 10417-PC  Can I get them deactivated so I can get another machine working on our project. Thank you

    Hello!

    I tried to process images from a MicaSense camera with the AgMultispectral function to assemble the orthomosaic, but it throws the following error:

    [Warning]: Warning w9020: GDAL Error <4> Unable to create jpeg file C:/Users/VISTAGUAY/Documents/pix4d/LosC/1_initial/project_data/normalised/IMG_0000_1.jpg.

    [Error]: Failed to write to <C:/Users/VISTAGUAY/Documents/pix4d/LosC/1_initial/project_data/normalised/IMG_0000_1.jpg

    Hola, trato de instalar pix4d mapper en mi nueva pc porque la anterior se daño, pero no puedo desactivar el equipo anterior. podrían ayudarme?
