How are credits calculated for High Resolution satellite data?
High resolution data costs 0.75 credits per hectare. There is a minimum Area of Interest (AOI) of 100 hectares that will be charged, meaning any order will cost at least 75 credits or more. The cost is based on the total area (AOI x number of scenes) and is rounded up to the nearest full credit. To learn more about credits: Credit balance system FAQ - PIX4Dfields
How are credits calculated for Standard Resolution satellite data?
Standard resolution data costs 0.00002 per hectare, such that 1 credit is enough for 50,000 hectares. The cost is based on the total area (AOI x number of scenes) and is rounded up to the nearest full credit. For example, a 100 ha field costs 1 credit. A 10,000-hectare field with 6 selected scenes = 60,000ha = 2 credits. To learn more about credits: Credit balance system FAQ - PIX4Dfields.
What is the maximum field size for Standard Resolution data?
The maximum allowed field size for Standard Resolution data is 10,000ha, and the minimum is 1ha.
What is the maximum field size for High Resolution data?
The maximum allowed field size for High Resolution data is 800ha, and the minimum is 100ha.
Is there a "fair use" limit for Standard Resolution data?
No. One major advantage of the new system for Standard Resolution data is the removal of “fair use” limits, allowing unlimited data usage without quota restrictions.
As a new PIX4Dfields user, do I need to buy credits to access satellite data?
Existing PIX4Dfields users with a paid license will receive 50 welcome credits.
New license subscribers after release date, will receive included credits based on their subscription type (monthly, yearly, 3-year) which can be used for either Standard or High Resolution satellite data. Additional credits can be purchased via a specific credit package.

As a user, how do I know the number of credits required for my satellite data selection?
The Satellite Data Credit Calculator can be used to estimate the number of credits required in advance. This tool will automatically calculate the estimated credits based on the selected area (hectares).
Once you initiate a data request within PIX4Dfields, the system will show and prompt you to confirm the exact credit consumption before finalization. To learn more about credits: Credit balance system FAQ - PIX4Dfields
What is the absolute accuracy of the images? Can I trust the location to create a spot spraying map for my drone or tractor?
Images are orthorectified to increase the absolute accuracy of the resulting orthomosaic.
The typical absolute accuracy achieved for high resolution images ranges from 1 to 5 meters, and from 5 to 10 meteres for Standard resolution.
Without further geo-referencing, the HD-satellite data is not suitable for spot spraying missions. Users should add a security buffer of at least 5 meters around obstacles and field boundaries to ensure safe operations if they choose to use this for operations.
Will the existing satellite feature prior to 2.12, be turned off?
Versions before PIX4Dfields 2.12 will be able to continue the SD satellite feature as before in the meantime.
There are no recent images available. Can I request a new satellite image?
If a more recent image is required, additional imagery can be ordered upon request via satellite tasking.
What is satellite tasking?
Satellite tasking is a service that allows a user to request a new satellite image to be captured over a specific Area of Interest (AOI). Instead of searching for existing historical data in an archive, you are placing an order for a satellite to collect new imagery for you within a future "collection window" that you define.
- Minimum Size: 50 km² (5,000 Ha).
- Maximum Size: 1,000 km² per Area Of Interest (AOI).
- Format limitation: AOIs must be a contiguous, single-part polygon. Multipart polygons are not accepted. Meaning a single contiguous area.

Can I use my credits to order a new image?
Credits can not be used to order a new image, you will get a custom quote from us based on your order parameters, which has to be paid in advance.
How long does it take to receive my imagery after placing an order?
The delivery time depends on when the image is successfully collected. When you order, you define a "collection window." The image will be captured on a suitable day within that window. Once the image is successfully acquired by the satellite, it will be processed and delivered to you via email within 24 hours.
