This feature enables seamless project uploads to PIX4Dcloud for processing. The Point Cloud, Mesh, DSM, and Orthomosaic, as well as Tie points (e.g., GCPs, CP and MTPs) and ROI, can be uploaded to PIX4Dcloud for accurate cloud-based processing.
Process in PIX4Dcloud requirements
This feature is available for PIX4Dmatic version 1.73.0 or newer. The following requirements have to be met to successfully use Process in PIX4Dcloud:
- A valid PIX4Dmatic license is required, such as a trial, monthly, yearly, or perpetual.
- A PIX4Dcloud subscription with sufficient credits is required to use the Process in PIX4Dcloud feature
- The limit to the number of projects that can be uploaded for processing depends on the available credits.
- The Storage expiration policy for PIX4Dcloud applies.
How to use Process in PIX4Dcloud
To access Process in PIX4Dcloud, navigate to File > PIX4Dcloud > Process in PIX4Dcloud....
The Process in PIX4Dcloud window will pop up.
The available Processing templates, Inputs, and Outputs are displayed in this window and explained in the table below:

After selecting the desired option in the Process in PIX4Dcloud window, click on Process to start processing.
What to expect next
After the processing starts, the actions listed below will follow:
- The Status bar will be automatically updated with the status of the project's upload on the bottom left of PIX4Dmatic.
- After everything is uploaded and processing begins, a first email notification is sent to the email of the Pix4D account.
- After the processing is finished, a second email notification is sent.
- The processed results can be viewed directly in the PIX4Dcloud by clicking on File > PIX4Dcloud > View project in PIX4cloud in PIX4Dmatic.
- The project can be edited and modified just like a regular PIX4Dcloud project.
Important:
- Ground Control Points, Checkpoints, and Manual Tie Points are available in the PIX4Dcloud's Quality Report.
- Only Ground Control Points and Checkpoints are displayed in the PIX4Dcloud viewer.
FAQ
What will happen if I have insufficient credits?
- When credits are insufficient to complete the processing in PIX4Dcloud, the upload will fail, and a red warning will be displayed in the Status Bar of PIX4Dmatic. Additionally, selecting View project in PIX4cloud will lead to an error page in PIX4Dcloud.
- The project will be uploaded but remain in a Waiting for credits state. The project will be visible in PIX4Dcloud, the processing will start automatically when sufficient credits are added.
I have not yet migrated to the credit system for PIX4Dcloud, can I use Process in PIX4Dcloud?

For users on the credits system:
- There is no limit on the number of projects that can be uploaded.
- The Storage expiration policy for PIX4Dcloud applies.
- For users not yet migrated to the credit system, there are certain limitations:
- PIX4Dmatic monthly billing subscribers can create 1 project per month.
- PIX4Dmatic yearly billing subscribers and perpetual license users with active S&U can create up to 12 projects per year.
- PIX4Dmatic trial license holders can create 1 project during the trial period.
- The Storage expiration policy for PIX4Dcloud applies.
Does it create a new project every time I click on Process in PIX4Dcloud?
- Yes, each time the Process in PIX4Dcloud is selected, a new project will be created in the PIX4Dcloud account. Credits will be consumed accordingly every time a new process is completed. This also means that the same project can be processed multiple times with different inputs and outputs.
Does PIX4Dcloud preserve the names/IDs?
- Yes, the project name and the names of the Tie points in PIX4Dmatic are preserved in the PIX4Dcloud project.
In which coordinate reference system will the PIX4Dcloud project be?
- The Coordinate reference system of the project in PIX4Dcloud will be the same as the project's Coordinate reference system in PIX4Dmatic, which can be found in the Status bar at the bottom of the software.
