Introduction
Pix4D offers different types of licenses in order to adapt to different user needs and workflows.
Plan licenses
Plan licenses are the easiest way to get a license for any Pix4D product. Plans can be started directly from our e-commerce webpage. The licenses are renewed automatically after the end of the plan period. If you don't want the license to automatically renew, you can cancel the plan using this procedure: How to cancel a subscription plan.
Note: If you want to cancel the plan, you do not need to wait for the end of the renewal period. Even if you cancel the plan during the validity period, you will be able to use the software until the last day of validity.
Plan licenses are ideal for long-term projects, if you want to keep a license without worrying about renewing it, or if you need full control of license renewal, as this can be managed by the end user directly (assuming the Organization Management Role allows it).
You do not need to redeem plan licenses. These licenses are assigned automatically to the selected organization at checkout.
Technical support is assured for the entire validity period of a plan.
Rental licenses
Rental licenses are offered from direct sales or resellers. The validity period is defined and the rental licenses are not autorenewing at the end of the period.
These licenses need to be redeemed using the license key: How to redeem Pix4D license keys.
Rental licenses are ideal for short-term projects.
Technical support is assured for the entire validity period of a rental license.
One-Time Charge (OTC) licenses
One-Time Charge (OTC) licenses are licenses that do not need to be renewed. These licenses give access to a specific version of a Pix4D software for an undefined period of time. However, the proper functioning of the software is ensured only for the latest version available.
Note: OTC licenses are not available for PIX4Dcatch and PIX4Dcloud.
OTC licenses can be combined with Support and Upgrades (S&U). A valid S&U gives access to personal technical support and to the latest product versions as soon as they are released. S&U needs to be renewed manually every year (How to renew Support and Upgrades).
Technical support is provided as long as there is an active S&U and the last version of the software is used.
