How to import an IFC and/or a DXF in an empty project in PIX4Dcloud so that it can be visualized in Augmented Reality

Information: PIX4Dcloud Advanced is needed to import an IFC or a DXF in an empty project.

How to import an IFC file in an empty project

  1. Create an empty project with Upload processed outputs.image-20240229-124627
  2. Manually set the coordinate system of the project in the result page by clicking on Set CRS. It has to be the same as the IFC to be imported.
    crs
Note: The result page will show a warning to inform that there is no coordinate system defined so far.image-20240229-125346
  3. Import the IFC file by clicking in Upload fileupload
  4. Go to the viewer to see the IFC in the viewer or use PIX4Dcloud AR in PIX4Dcatch to see the project in Augmented Reality.

Information: Once the coordinate system of the project has been defined, PIX4Dcloud expects all outputs to be uploaded in that coordinate system.

How to import a DXF file in an empty project

Information: Importing a DXF file into an empty project is not supported, this section describes a workaround that enable the upload of a DXF as overlay, but for now there is no direct upload to an empty project.

  1. Create an empty project with Upload processed outputs.image-20240229-124627
  2. Manually set the coordinate system of the project in the result page by clicking on Set CRS. It has to be the same as the DXF to be imported.
    crs
Note: The result page will show a warning to inform that there is no coordinate system defined so far.image-20240229-125346
  3. Import any IFC file, no matter in which coordinate system or what file. This step is just to be able to access the project.upload
  4. Go to the view the project (only the IFC is visible).
  5. Import the DXF file as overlay.
  6. (Optionally) Delete the IFC file.
  7. Go to the viewer to see the project in the viewer or use PIX4Dcloud AR in PIX4Dcatch to see the project in Augmented Reality.
