How to attach an image to an annotation in PIX4Dcloud

This article describes how to attach an image to an annotation in PIX4Dcloud so it can be visualized in the viewer.

Image attachment and screenshot for the annotation PDF report

There are two different ways to attach an image to an annotation in PIX4Dcloud or PIX4Dcloud Advanced.

  • Image attachment: It is an image that can be manually uploaded from PIX4Dcatch.
  • Screenshot for annotation report: It is automatically created when an annotation is generated and included in the annotation PDF report available for the PIX4Dcloud Advanced license.

When clicking on an annotation, the right panel shows first the image attachment and second the screenshot in the lower part of the properties.

Information:

  • The image attachment is only available from PIX4Dcatch, and it can only be attached to a marker annotation.
  • The screenshot for the annotation report is the image included along with the annotation when a PDF annotation report is generated. If an image has been attached from PIX4Dcatch, it will also be included in the annotation report.

Warning: For projects created before the release of the annotation report or for projects including annotations that have not been created in PIX4Dcloud (e.g., annotations imported from an external file or annotations imported from PIX4Dsurvey), no screenshot is attached to the annotation.

How to enlarge and download an image that is attached to an annotation (marker only).

  1. In the right panel, click on the image that was attached in PIX4Dcatch:enlarge
  2. The image will be enlarged:download-2
  3. Click on close or download.

Information: The image cannot be replaced or deleted for now.

How to attach/replace and delete a screenshot to an annotation

  1. Create an annotation.
  2. As soon as it is created, a screenshot of the annotation will be generated and visible in the right panel of the annotation.
  3. To modify the screenshot, the Add/replace image button is on top of the right panel.

  4. To delete the attached image, click inside the image to get the close button and confirm the deletion.
