I was having the same problem - a totally black orthoimage - until I realized I had the green arrow of the orthoplane pointing in the wrong direction.

I'm able to open .p4d files created using the Windows version, however the cameras, rays, point clouds, and triangles are not showing up - all I get is any objects that were created in the original...
