Annotations in Pix4Dfields

 Previous  |  Next

Access: The annotation tool is active as soon as images are processed or a GeoTIFF is imported in a Pix4Dfields project. The options associated with an annotation are available as soon as an annotation exists in a project. You find the annotation tool in the left top corner of the map, next to the left board. The tool icon allows you to choose between creating a point, line and area annotation. The annotations itself live on the map and as list objects on the left board under the annotation-tab.

Import an annotation as shape (GeoJSON, KML, Shapefile)

To import annotations shape:
  1. Go to the Annotations-tab on the right board.
  2. Click on Import shapes or images.
  3. Choose the shape you want to import as an annotation.
  4. Click Open.

Note: In case you import a multi-polygon shapefile you may “explode” this into single annotations. This means for every single polygon shape in the multipolygon a single annotation will be created. To do so click the “Create single polygons” in the edit annotation dialogue box.

Note: Point annotations allow measuring the coordinates of a point, line annotations will measure a length, and polygon annotations will measure an area. For more information: Measurement tool.
