How to export/import annotations

Distances, areas and markers can be exported in three different formats:

  • GeoJSON (georeferenced annotations): available both in the 2D and 3D views.
  • Shapefile (georeferenced annotations): available both in the 2D and 3D views.
  • CSV (properties of the annotations only): available both in the 2D and 3D views.

To export an annotation layer:

1. Ensure each annotation has the desired name and, optionally, a description.
2. On the left sidebar, click on the annotation layer's name. This highlights all the annotations of the layer in the current view.
3. Click cloud_download.png.
4. Select the export format. Clicking automatically starts the download.

Note: Annotations cannot be exported individually. The entire Annotations Layer is exported at once.

Distances, areas and markers can be imported in three different formats:

  • GeoJSON (georeferenced annotations): Available both in the 2D and 3D views.
  • Shapefile (beta) (georeferenced annotations): Available both in the 2D and 3D views.

To import the annotations:

1. On the left sidebar, click the annotation layer's name.
2. Click import.png
3. Select the file format.
4. Browse for the desired file.

Warning: The GeoJSON file has a custom structure in order to be read by the application. Ensure the imported GeoJSON file reflects the formatting rules of the exported one. To check the format of the file, create some annotations and export the layer.
Warning: For shapefile import, the entire folder with the 4 .dbf, .prj, .shp, .shx files should be zipped (.zip) and imported.
