Other than for logging in, the internet connection in the field is not a strict requirement but it is recommended to have it. It is needed, in detail, in the following situations:
- To log in to the app.
- (DJI) The first time that the app is opened to get the DJI SDK.
- (DJI) From time to time when opening the app to get again the DJI SDK.
- To update the latest version of the app.
- To update the drone and remote controller firmware (done outside PIX4Dscan).
- To visualize background maps.
Information: It is possible to cache background maps for the Map view. These maps are loaded in case of no Internet connection. For more information: Offline basemaps and missions.
