Hello i have an Dji Inspire 2 and a X4S camera on board.
When i fly a mission the drone uploads and take off with no problems, after it sets the altitude it fly in a strange way to the mapping beginning and something happinibg in the camera setting, so when the mission starts, it taks pictures to the left or the right sides and the only thing i can do is to pause the mission, start up the dji go4 app and reset the camera gimble and then go back in pix4d and resume the mission and then it goes. Until it begin to map the other direktions, so the camera hang in same direktion as the mapping before?? If i use dronedeploy or map pilot i have no problems and Dji had tjeked the drone and gimble also, now i dont now what to do, please help me, im paying for this app and program

    Best Jacob

Jacon, I think this is the same issue I am having.  The gimbal yaws so the photographs are taken on an angle.  I don't experience this issue using Android however, only with the iOS version of the app.

  • Raffaele Dalessandri

Buongiorno a tutti.

I have been setting missions and everything is fine for the drone to take off and head to the mission, but once it does, it just hovers there and won’t do anything else. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting I can think of in the app and with my tablet. I was flying yesterday and it was perfectly fine. Please let me know if you can help.

  • Gaël (Pix4D)

Can you specify me what is your configuration? (drone, camera, mobile device)
Also, on top of this troubleshooter, did you follow all the basic checks and troubleshooting steps described in this article? If properly followed, it will enable to solve most of the unexpected behaviors that can be encountered.

  • Claudia Scaramella

Si non, Il faut sinon forcer la fermeture de l'application native: (Android, iOS) How to force quit an app

    • (3.0.0) Bebop 2 can only be used with Skycontroller 2 and not with the WiFi anymore.

I am trying to connect a DJI M200 V2, with an MicaSense Altum onboard, to a android tablet using Pix4D Capture v4.5.

The drone is calibrated using the DJI Pilot app. Everything is green and ready to fly following what DJI Pilot is saying.

I close this app (fully close, not only reduced), and open the plug-in, which connect to the drone successfully. From the plug-in, I launch Pix4D Capture. It connect successfully to the drone also

I prepare the mission, and clic "start". It tells me successful connection to the drone. I clic next to the check list.

Only the first line with successful connection to the drone is checked. However, on the main problem, it says the drone require calibration using DJI Go (I cannot use DJI Go with this drone model, but DJI Pilot) but the drone is already calibrated.

Besides, a second error in the check list is that the mission is not uploading to the drone.

So finally, I never managed to go forward, and start the mission.

    Any help?

  • Gaël (Pix4D)

    Hello Joseph,

The DJI Matrice 200 V2 series is not supported by Pix4Dcapture at the moment. I will share your interest with the developer's team and the Product Owner.
We always recommend making sure that your drone is compatible with our application before using it. You can find the list of supported drones and cameras here.

    Cannot connect to server

  • Gaël (Pix4D)

    Hola Carmen,

    - Siga basic checks and troubleshooting steps.

I'm using Pix4DCapture App on iOS with Parrot Anafi drone ... works perfectly well under normal conditions.

Still, so far I encountered two situations that abort a running mission, which are hard to control:

    • Imagine you receive an incoming call while the drone is flying in a mission.
Currently in version 4.5, even if you choose to not take the incoming call, the ongoing mission in the app is closed.
I'm not able to monitor it any further. The drone continues to take pictures even afterwards, and it even returns successfully at the end of the uploaded mission.
BUT: There are no images on the SD card after the incoming call was received.
    • Imagine taking the Pix4D Capture app to background on your iPhone, while the drone is flying in a mission.
Currently in V4.5 when you return to the app, the ongoing mission is closed there. You're back to home screen.
The rest is like above. Monitoring is not possible any longer, the drone continues and returns, but no images are saved to SD card after that action (taking the app to background)

Are there any known workarounds to that?
Can I, for example, turn of mobile network of my mobile or even switch the iPhone to flight mode after before I start a mission?

Maybe these things are easy to fix.

If more detailed explaination is needed pls contact me by e-mail.

    Best regards!

  • Gaël (Pix4D)

    Hi Helmuth,

thank you for your interesting feedback.

The case you are mentioning with incoming phone calls has not been considered. So if I understand it well the application is crashing, when a phone call is received, am I right?
I will report this behavior to the developer's team.

In the meantime, when operating a drone using Pix4Dcapture, I strongly suggest the following:
    - If possible, get a mobile device that is dedicated to your flights so that no incoming calls will disturb the missions.
    - After having planned your mission and before starting it, it should not have any impact to put the flight mode on your phone as the GPS will still be active.

Also, I would strongly recommend interrupting a mission while you are experiencing crashes or any unexpected behavior.

About the second case, I will also report it to the developers, as it should be possible to follow up on the mission even while putting the application in the background for a while. Is the behavior you described happening all the time? Also, note that when flying a mission, you should not put in the background Pix4Dcapture and follow up the mission all time if an unexpected behavior occurs.

    Best regards,

  • John Smith

    Hi Helmuth and Gäel,

I'm using Android and DJI Mavic Pro. Incoming calls don't affect the mission, I just shut the call.

But Pix4D Capture App freezes in the middle od the misson very often, approx. 1/3 of all flights. App doesn't crash, the screen is just freezed or maybe it's more like connection with remote controller was lost, but without any warning. Dron is still on a misson able to finish it, it lands succfesfully on Homepoint, it's taking pictures and they're all on SD card. I'm not able to watch the progress of the mission, because the screen is freezed and there's button "start" instead of "abort".

I guess it's OK to finish the misson, when you have a visual contact with a drone and all important indicators are displayed on a remote controlle. I'm going to try another mobile device next time.

    Regards, John

Hi, I have a Mavic 2 Pro and have tested Pix4dCapture on Android and iOS several times. However, on both, clicking the Camera View button shows nothing, the screen only shows everything black.

The survey is done normally, but I can't see Camera View during the flight.

All firmware, application versions, and operating systems are up to date. I've searched several forums and couldn't solve my problem. Thanks if you can help me.

  • Gaël (Pix4D)

    Hi Claudio,

Using the Mavic 2 Pro, the video feed has not been implemented on the Android version of Pix4Dcapture, it is then normal that you will have a black screen when trying to access the camera view. You can find back this information on important communication here.

On the iOS version, several users reported that the video feed was not working properly and our developers have indeed confirmed that. A fix will come in the next release of the iOS version of Pix4Dcapture.
