Supported drones, cameras and controllers - PIX4Dcapture

Follow
Important: PIX4Dmapper, PIX4Dcloud, PIX4Dinspect, PIX4Dmatic, PIX4Dreact, and PIX4Dfields can process images taken virtually from any image acquisition app even if PIX4Dscan or PIX4Dcapture don't support the drone. For more information: Which image acquisition app can I use with Pix4D's software?

Drones and cameras supported by Pix4D's software and apps

Drones, cameras and controllers supported by PIX4Dcapture

The status of PIX4Dcapture support for the different drones, cameras, and controllers is described in the table below. When the app has not been tested, it means that the app could work, but Pix4D makes no guarantee.

If a non-DJI camera is mounted on DJI drones, PIX4Dcapture will not be able to trigger the camera. Making it work will rely on the fact that a time-lapse can be set in this custom camera. A specific functionality has been developed on iOS to keep the right overlap up to the camera specifications. More information here.

Recommendations to fly a drone that was not tested

The drone to be selected before starting a mission should be one of those having the same connection mode (Wi-Fi or USB cable).

Tip: The following drones are not officially supported by PIX4Dcapture. However, you may be able to fly your mission if you select the appropriate settings in PIX4Dcapture:
  • DJI Phantom 3 4K: Select Phantom 3 Advanced or Professional in PIX4Dcapture's settings.
  • DJI Phantom 4 Advanced: Select Phantom 4 Pro in PIX4Dcapture's settings.
  • DJI Matrice 600: Select Matrice 100 in PIX4Dcapture's settings.

    Hello Ivan,

The Mavic 2 Enterprise is only supported on the iOS version of Pix4Dcapture. However, the Pix4Dcapture app is only compatible with the RGB camera. If you have any issues, I would suggest you go through all the basic checks and troubleshooting steps as it will solve most of the issues that can be encountered if properly followed.

    Regards,

  • Gabriel Martins Genovez

    Hi Juan,

Supporting the DJI Mavic Air 2 is not in our roadmap for this year. If we support this drone, we will notify our users in our social media.

    Hello Gianni,

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK  is not supported by pix4Dcapture at the moment and it is currently not in our pipeline to support it by the first quarter of 2021. If things change, we will publish it at our page on Supported drones, cameras and controllers

    Hi,

Since the SDK for the DJI Mavic Mini has been available since the end of July 2020, I was wondering whether or not Pix4d were working to make it compatible with the application. I know many people, including myself, would love to see Pix4d be compatible with the mini drone.

Since the upgrading of Anafi Parrot to firmware 1.7, Pix4D mapper is not working anymore on Android

  • Kapil (Pix4D)

    Hello,

The Parrot Anafi won't work with the recent firmware update of 1.7.3. We will release a new version for Pix4Dcapture android within a few weeks and it should work with that version.

For now, the only option is not updating the firmware to 1.7 or using the iOS version of the Pix4Dcapture app.

    Hi,

Anyone to please update me on this:

Has anyone tried flying missions using Pix4dCapture on Android with the Matrice 200 v2 (just want to know if it is now compatible)? It is annoying that one can't import kml files into the iOs version of Pix4dCapture especially if you need the mission to accurately overlay the area of interest.

Are there any plans to make this possible for users, it has been requested by several pix4d community members already.

I'm disappointed to see the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom is not supported.  Can you explain the reason for this?  Thank you, Michael

Hello good news from DJI regarding the SDK allowing 3rd party support for the Mavic Air 2:

Dear Developer, We are excited to announce the release of the DJI Mobile SDK 4.14 Trial1 and DJI UX SDK 4.14 Trial1. You can find them on our developer site at DJI MSDK Download 2, DJI UXSDK Download.

This version of Mobile SDK introduces support for DJI Mavic Air 2 and adds some new features for Matrice 300 RTK, including the selection of lens to for taking photos or recording videos, custom file name and folder name for manual flight and waypoint flight, and support radar accessories for obstacle avoidance. Also, we added some new features for Phantom 4 RTK, including fetch XMP file from camera and support maintain positioning accuracy mode. In addition, we have fixed some serious bugs. Please refer to the release notes for the full list of changes.

This version of UX SDK introduces support for Mavic Air 2 and fixes for various bugs. We are transitioning towards an upcoming major version of UX SDK, version 5.0, which is open source, modular and customizable. Shortly after this 4.14 release, you will find the new iOS UXSDK version 5 beta 4 1 and Android UX SDK version 5 beta 5 1 on Github. We look forward to all of your feedback and pull requests.

As always, the DJI Dev Team is committed to improving your developer experience. Please report any bugs or questions you have to dev@dji.com. We recommend frequently checking the DJI SDK Download Page to ensure that you are always working with the latest version of the DJI SDK.

Hello, thanks for posting the news!
Unfortunately, there are no plans to support the Mavic Air 2 in Pix4Dcapture.
If anything changes, we will communicate on the official post for Mavic Air 2:

DJI Mavic air 2 and Pix4Dcapture

  • Maek Ebersole

Does anyone know if there is plans for the Mavic Air 2 to be supported?

  • Marco Paccagnella

Hello! Pix4Dcapture, our flying app does not support the Mavic Air 2.

Please keep in mind that our processing software such as Pix4Dmapper can process images taken from virtually any flying app as long as they are of good quality and overlap. For more information: Which image acquisition app can I use with Pix4D's software?.

That being said, you can get a trial of our processing software and start using them with your Mavic Air 2 images at any moment.

  • Maek Ebersole

I will consider Pix4Dmapper when I can use Pix4Dcapture.  The SDK has been available so your software should be made to support the Mavic Air 2.  Let us know when it is available.

  • Han Jidong

I need your support for Mavic air2. When can I apply?

  • Jaeho Lee

I would like to continue Pix4d Mapper, but, my drone is 'DJI matrice 300 RTK'. Do you a plan for the drone to use ?

  • Marco Paccagnella

    Hello Jaeho,

Please keep in mind that our processing software such as Pix4Dmapper can process images taken from virtually any flying app as long as they are of good quality and overlap. For more information: Which image acquisition app can I use with Pix4D's software?.

Currently, there is no plan to add the DJI matrice 300 RTK in Pix4Dcapture.
