Drones, cameras and controllers supported by PIX4Dcapture
The status of PIX4Dcapture support for the different drones, cameras, and controllers is described in the table below. When the app has not been tested, it means that the app could work, but Pix4D makes no guarantee.
If a non-DJI camera is mounted on DJI drones, PIX4Dcapture will not be able to trigger the camera. Making it work will rely on the fact that a time-lapse can be set in this custom camera. A specific functionality has been developed on iOS to keep the right overlap up to the camera specifications. More information here.

Recommendations to fly a drone that was not tested
The drone to be selected before starting a mission should be one of those having the same connection mode (Wi-Fi or USB cable).
Hello, is there a way to manually control the camera settings on a mavic pro?
I found that it is posible to control the White balance option... but other setings.. and I am having problems with pictures with diferent setings some dark, some over exposed...
best
Hi Jose,
Please have a look at the Camera settings in Pix4Dcapture article on our Knowledge Base.
Best,
Hello,
Are you working in making a compatible version of Pix4D with Disco Pro AG in Android?
If yes, when would we have the honour?
Thanks,
Kay
Hi Kay,
Having a compatible version of Pix4Dcapture on Android with the Disco-Pro AG is not in the pipeline so far.
Best,
Hello,
I would like to know when Pix4D will provide their support to Phantom 4 Pro +
I am sorry for repeated question, but i am flying Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, is it going to be suppoerted soon?
@Ibrahim, it is not in the pipeline to officially support P4P+. However, some users of this drone succeed to make it work quite nicely using Pix4Dcapture and explained the procedure here.
@ Stefan, please consider following this thread as we will communicate as soon as the support of the P4P V2 is implemented in Pix4Dcapture. The development of the support for this drone is currently ongoing.
@all, this space is dedicated to give feedback about the articles themselves. For example, we will be glad to get your feedback if, from your perspective, you are noticing wrong, missing, outdated or unclear information.
Best,
Hi, there are some prevision to support P4A (DJI Phantom 4 Advanced)?
How you can check the configuration in DJI site, the P4A is very similar to the P4P (DJI Phantom 4 Pro), differencing basically by avoindance sensors and some improvements in datalink, see:
https://www.dji.com/products/compare-consumer-drones (add P4A and P4P to compare, and hide dupplicated details)
I tried to configure in Pix4DCapture the model "Phantom 4 Pro", but when I connect the drone P4A, the options returns to "Phantom 4"
And I can't use the 20Mpixel from native P4A.
Maybe the Pix4D can release a version "beta" of Pix4DCapture, for users interested in test with P4A, accepting all the terms and responsabilities like beta-testers, even because, the status in this listing is "Not Tested".
I think that option will reach a lot of users that own P4A.
Your app are very stable and usefull, I think this option will be very interesting for users that avoid another loaded apps, like dronedeploy.
Best Regards,
Hi Thiago,
Thank you for your nice feedback about our application.
For now, it is not in the pipeline to officially support Phantom 4 Advanced. You are right that differences with P4P are not huge but they are existing and time will be needed to develop an official support for it. Currently, it is not in our priorities. However, some users tried to test it and sometimes with good success. You can have a look at this thread on our community website.
If changes occur about the support of this drone we will communicate there.
Best,
Anyone have an idea if and when the 4 pro + will be compatible to install Pix4d?
if not, is there a work-around?
Hello, it is not in the pipeline to officially support the Phantom 4 Pro +. However, some users of this drone succeed to make it work quite nicely using Pix4Dcapture and explained the procedure here.
Is it support for DJI matrice 600 pro?
Hi, Al Surveyor drone,
As you can see in our article, DJI Matrice 600 is supported on iOS but has not been tested on Android. As it has not been tested on Android, we can not make any guarantee that it will work using it. We suggest to select DJI Matrice 100 in the drone list if using Android version of Pix4Dcapture.
Best,
Hi there,
After having run some test-missions with this Pix4D app on DJI CrystalSky monitor and Inpsire 2 with Zenmuse X5S I have two questions:
- The Zenmuse X5S camera supports different lenses. Is there a way to change that setup in the app's settings? Or should the app detect the lens setup automatically?
- Should the app be able to (auto)focus when taking pictures during the mission?
Regards,
HASTA AHORITA NO HE PODIDO HACER UN PLAN DE VUELO CON MI PHANTOM 4 ADVANCED PORQUE NO SE CONECTA CON EL DRON LA APLICACION SE QUE NO ESTA APROBADO, PERO PARA CUANDO ESTARÍA APROBADO ESTA APLICACION PARA DICHO DRON.?
@Eerst, by default, Pix4Dcapture will take the X5S with 15mm focal length parameters. There is no way to easily change that in our application. However, on iOS, as a workaround, you can try the following but we can not make any guarantee that it will work as we did not test it. We would be glad to have feedback from users trying these methods.
Workaround 1:
- In DJI manufacturer app (DJI GO, DJI GO4), set a timelapse if the option is available. It won't be possible to make it work if the option is not available.
- Quit the manufacturer application, open Pix4Dcapture and set a custom camera. The important step is to have the same timelapse defined in Pix4Dcapture and in the manufacturer app.
- Start the mission.
Note that you will have to activate a time-lapse in the drone manufacturer app as the camera cannot be controlled by Pix4Dcapture.
Workaround 2:
- Using Safe mode and defining the custom camera (without defining any time-lapse), pictures might be triggered automatically at the defined waypoints.
About your second question, yes Pix4Dcapture will be able to autofocus.
@Omar, it is not in our pipeline to support officially the Phantom 4 Advanced (P4A). However, some users tried to test it and sometimes with good success. You can have a look at this thread on our community website. If changes occur about the support of this drone we will communicate there.
Best,
Hi Pix4D, please can you advise the status of using Pix4D Capture with the Phantom 4 Rtk? Many thanks
Hi pix4D
In setting the speed adjustment, I want to know what the speed is at the maximum or minimum, and how do I know the exact figure for that?
@Ryan, for now, no decision has been taken about the potential use of Pix4Dcapture with the P4P RTK as some exchange are still in progress with DJI about it.
@Kim
The drone speed during the acquisition is calculated and set depending on your flight parameters (overlap, flight height).
For most of the drones, the minimum speed corresponding to Slow is 2 m/s and the maximum corresponding to Fast is 15 m/s.
Then the 3 intervals in between are evenly split between 2m/s and 15 m/s meaning that the speeds will be as follow:
2 - 5.2 - 8.5 - 11.8 - 15 (m/s)
6.6 - 17.2 - 27.9 - 38.5 - 49.2 (ft/s)
Note that using the speed slider, the speed of your drone will be impacted only in some conditions. As an example, if the drone speed calculation of your flight is 6.2 m/s, setting up the speed sliders in the middle (8.5 m/s) will have no impact. However, if you set it to the second interval after slow (5.2 m/s) then your drone will actually fly at 5.2 m/s instead of 6.2 m/s.
Note that those speed intervals calculations depend on the drone and it will not always be the same. Also, we recommend setting the speed sliders to Fast except for few cases where the pictures sharpness is not satisfying because of the drone speed, for example when flying at low altitude.
Best,
Salutations,
Is any update expected to be able to use the Zenmuse Z30 and XT2 cameras?
Thanks in advance
Hi Victor,
It is not in our pipeline for the moment to implement support for those two cameras in Pix4Dcapture.
I would recommend you follow this community thread as we will communicate there as soon as there are updates about the XT2. Some workarounds that might enable you to fly and triggering pictures with Pix4Dcapture are also suggested.
Best,
Thanks for your quick response.
Even so, and due to the increase of use in topography with Zenmuse cameras, we would appreciate that you implement these cameras to your software.
Best wishes for all Pix4D team
Hi Victor,
I shared your feedback with the developer's team and the product owner.
Best regards,
Is pix 4d computable with the DJI Smart controller?
and if not when will it be?
Thanks for you help
Hello Alexander,
The DJI Smart controller is not compatible with our application at the moment and at this stage we can not say when/if it will be supported. I would recommend you follow this thread on our community as it is the main one about the DJI smart controller and we will communicate there as soon as we have updates.
Best,
Buenos días..

Hola Miguel,
Por el momento no está previsto soportar el Mavic 2 zoom en Pix4Dcapture.
Si hay algún cambio al respecto, lo notificaremos en este post.
Un saludo.
Hello, good morning from Chile. I have a question regarding the compatibility of the Sony Camera Action Cam FDR-X3000 with Pix4D Mapper. We are in the initial stage of monitoring of gravel trucks and we want to test with the camera mentioned above. I hope to get some response and see if we invest in this camera. Greetings.
