How to set up the Firewall and Proxy Server Configuration - PIX4Dmapper
This article explains how to configure the firewall and proxy server in PIX4Dmapper.
The network restrictions may prevent PIX4Dmapper from starting correctly. Corporate networks, proxy servers, or security policies may block the connections required by the software during startup. This can cause issues, such as not being able to access the license or launch the software.
Firewall Configuration
If a firewall is in place, some exceptions need to be configured to allow the traffic between the device on which PIX4Dmapper is being used and Pix4D and AWS (Amazon Web Servers).
PIX4Dmapper implements certificate pinning to enhance security by ensuring connections only trust specific SSL/TLS certificates. This prevents unauthorized interception and ensures secure communication with our servers. The allowed traffic should include a rule with the following exceptions:
Ports
- 443 for HTTPS communication.
Domains
It is best to authorize the root Pix4D and AWS levels and any sub-domain as follows:
- *.pix4d.com
- cloud.pix4d.com,
- account.pix4d.com,
- api.account.pix4d.com,
- webgis.pix4d.com,
- prod-pix4d-*.s3.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-*.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com:
- prod-pix4d-cloud-default.s3.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-cloud-default.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-cloud-eu-central-1.s3.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-cloud-eu-central-1.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-cloud-kkc.s3.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-cloud-kkc.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-private-cloud-kr-ap-northeast-2.s3.amazonaws.com,
- prod-pix4d-private-cloud-kr-ap-northeast-2.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com.
Tip: The full list of domains is optional. This setup will work correctly, even if only the three main domain names listed are used.
- *.pix4d.com
- prod-pix4d-*.s3.amazonaws.com
- prod-pix4d-*.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com
How to set up the Proxy Server Configuration
If a proxy server is used to connect to the Internet, enter the proxy settings as follows:
-
Open the Settings Proxy window by:
- When logging in to the software: On the PIX4Dmapper Login window, click Proxy...
- Anytime: On the Menu bar, click Help > Settings...
- Click the drop-down box list No Proxy.

- Ask the organization's system or IT administrator which option to choose (Use Systems Settings, Socks5, Http). When not knowing which option to select, please choose Use Systems Settings.
- Enter the proxy Host name and Port number when Socks5 or Http is selected. The Host name is usually an organization's domain. The Port number is usually 4-digit but not limited to 4-digit.
