What is the difference between Automatic Tie Points and Manual Tie Points?

Video: Watch the instructional video about Tie Points:

An Automatic Tie Point (ATP) is a 3D point that is automatically detected and matched in the images and used to compute its 3D position. The number of generated ATPs highly depends on:

  • The image resolution.
  • The visual content of images.

A Manual Tie Point (MTP) is a point without known 3D coordinates that is marked by the user in the images. It can be used to assess and improve reconstruction accuracy.
