Why the fourth dimension in Pix"4D"?

Pix4D develops easy-to-use and fully automated solutions that process thousands of images to generate georeferenced orthomosaics, 3D point clouds, and digital surface models (DSM). The 2D and 3D outputs are of survey-grade precision and have a wide array of uses, including measurement of distances and areas, calculation of volumes, profiles, contour lines, digitization, etc.

Many of these applications may include a time factor, given that a project area must be monitored across time. Pix4D software can be used periodically to process new data of the same area of interest, delivering all the necessary information for data comparison and project monitoring over time.

In this respect, Pix4D gets involved with all four dimensions, hence the name "4D" (to include also the fourth dimension representing time).
