Remote device deactivation - PIX4Dmapper

Follow

PIX4Dmapper includes a remote device deactivation feature allowing a device to be deactivated remotely. This feature can be used to deactivate inaccessible devices occupying a seat on the license. This feature will come automatically enabled with all new PIX4Dmapper licenses, older licenses will have to enable this feature manually.

Enable remote device deactivation

New PIX4Dmapper licenses will have the Remote device deactivation option enabled by default. Previously acquired PIX4Dmapper licenses will have to enable this feature manually.

Important: Before enabling the Remote device deactivation feature, it is necessary to log out all active devices. Active devices will prevent the feature from being enabled.

To enable the Remote device deactivation feature:

  1. Open PIX4Dmapper.
  2. Log out of PIX4Dmapper from all active devices. For more information see How to log out PIX4Dmapper.
  3. Go to the Licenses panel.
  4. In the PIX4Dmapper license, next to the Remote device deactivation, click Enable now.

  5. Now launch PIX4Dmapper again.

How to deactivate a device remotely

To remotely deactivate a computer:

  1. Go to the Licenses panel.
  2. Identify the PIX4Dmapper license and the seat that needs deactivation.
  3. In the Active devices section, click DeactivatePIX4Dmapper deactivate button

  4. (Optional) Contact us if a Pix4D license is occupied by a device that cannot be remotely deactivated or from which logging out is impossible.

Note: The device must connect to the Internet at least once every 30 days, or it will be automatically deactivated.

    Dear Pix4D Support Team:

Currently, I have a problem when trying to deactivate remotely a device. The attached image shows the problem.

The issue is, I've never come across this kind of problem before but today I've just took my Desktop to a computer shop to get it repair, which I didn't really thought much about it when a technicians were doing a repair and so they've completely format the whole system, including "Pix4D Software". And so I reinstall the software, then trying re-login but it's telling me that I have 0/1 available device(s). So then I've been going through reading and following the instruction of "How to remotely deactivate a device"

And here's the result I'm getting.

Please is there any other way Pix4D Support Team could over come this problem? My license is 0c9c1211

    Thank you

    Kindest Regards

    Dear Support,

Just today we've been having problems with our workstation desktop, one of our workmate was working on our PC and we had no idea what and how he got our desktop filled with viruses.

So we quickly managed to save all the important files as much as we could. But we couldn't open up Pix4d software and saying that this file is been corupt, so it was too late for us to get in and signout the account.

Can you kindly solve this issues please.

    Hello,

Currently there is a desktop and a laptop that we at Marquette University use for our research that have the license activated with our account.

The laptop (COE-LAP-2443)  is no longer operable as it was damaged by water. We would like the licence on the laptop to be remotely deactivated so that we can use the software on the new laptop we purchased.

    Thank you.

  • Kapil (Pix4D)
