Outputs are not displayed in the cloud 2D or 3D view

The following cases can happen after processing on the cloud.

  • Map view: The orthomosaic, digital surface model (DSM), or index is not displayed.
  • 3D Model view: The point cloud or textured mesh is not displayed.

If project is uploaded from Pix4D Desktop

A typical cause is related to settings that were selected in Pix4D Desktop beforehand. Pix4D Cloud servers process images based on the project file (.p4d) that is uploaded. Therefore, it can happen that the outputs was not generated nor exported.

It is then required to:

1. Re-open the project with Pix4D Desktop.
2. Change the processing options accordingly as detailed below.
3. Re-upload to Pix4D Cloud for re-processing.

Map view
GeoTIFF Raster DSM and GeoTIFF Orthomosaic outputs are selected. 1. On the menu bar, click Process > Processing Options...
2. Select the processing step 3. DSM, Orthomosaic and Index.
3. Select the tab DSM and Orthomosaic.
4. Check the two GeoTIFF boxes. The Merge Tiles box does not matter.

GeoTIFF Reflectance and NDVI outputs are selected. 1. On the menu bar, click Process > Processing Options...
2. Select the processing step 3. DSM, Orthomosaic and Index.
3. Select the tab Index Calculator.
4. Check the GeoTIFF box. The Merge Tiles box does not matter.
5. Check the box of the NDVI formula.

3D Model view
LAS Point Cloud output is selected. 1. On the menu bar, click Process > Processing Options...
2. Select the processing step 2. Point Cloud and Mesh.
3. Select the tab Point Cloud.
4. Check the LAS box.

OBJ 3D Textured Mesh output is selected. 1. On the menu bar, click Process > Processing Options...
2. Select the processing step 2. Point Cloud and Mesh.
3. Select the tab 3D Textured Mesh.
4. Check the box Generate 3D Textured Mesh.
5. Check the OBJ box.

General causes

Additional causes can prevent the outputs from being loaded and affect the display.

ISSUE
EXPLANATION
Map and 3D Model views
Outputs have a significant size and/or a complex geometry. The cloud viewer can be limited by browser resources (display, memory) because of the input images (number, resolution, content) and project properties (geolocation information, extracted keypoints, resolution settings). The web browser application does not support 3D visualization. It is necessary that the web application supports optimized WebGL for rendering 3D graphics. This is a known issue for some iOS devices. For more information: ArcGIS help, Sketchfab help.
Pix4D Cloud cannot be accessed or some tools are not available in a cloud project In some cases, an internet browser combined with a specific operating system does not support some or all the functionalities on Pix4D Cloud.
- The configuration Internet Explorer 11/Windows 10 gives limited access to Pix4D Cloud. Some tools will not be available, like the elevation profile generation.
- The configuration Internet Explorer 11/Windows 7 is officially not supported.

Project fails to be processed on the servers. Several leads are recommended to be explored in order to troubleshoot the problem. For more information: 203694199.
Map view
Images are captured with a multi-spectral camera. One GeoTIFF file is generated per band instead of the single true color orthomosaic. The cloud platform only displays the DSM and NDVI outputs. However, all GeoTIFF files are downloadable. For more information: 115000707003.
