Speed |
Defines the drone's speed from a range between Slow and Fast (default). The maximum speed depends on the selected overlap and flight altitude. The scale has six levels corresponding to percentages of the maximum speed between 100% (Fast) and 50% (Slow). The speed should fluctuate between 2 and 8 m/s and is not constant during the flight since the drone slows down to trigger pictures. |
Angle (°) |
Defines the tilt (not pan) of the camera between 45° and 80° (default), 90° being vertical. The default value is 80° but if it was changed previously, the angle is the one of the last planned mission. |
Overlap (%) |
Defines the front overlap between 70%, 80%, and 90%. For more information about how to set the overlap: Step 1. Before Starting a Project > 1. Designing the Image Acquisition Plan > a. Selecting the Image Acquisition Plan Type. The side overlap is computed such that the side distance between two images is twice the front distance meaning the distance between two images on the same flight line. The side overlap is adjusted with the number of lines so that it is close to the defined overlap value. |

While flying a double mission yesterday (android) I noticed that the pictures were taken at a given time interval. Is this true? This results in a lot of ekstra pictures at the POI where the drone takes time to turn. This seem silly compared to if the drone captured images at a certain distance in the grid.
In iOS (my Ipad) I have the possibility to change many more mission options including "stop for picture". Why is this not an option in Android?

Indeed, the way to trigger images is not the same using the Android or iOS version of Pix4Dcapture. On Android, the way the pictures are triggered is based on a time-lapse and as a consequence, images can be very close to each other in terms of visual content. This is especially visible in the corners when the drone slows down whereas the time lapse is fixed.
This way of triggering pictures has been implemented up to the released DJI mobile SDK that are not the same on Android and iOS and do not enable the same way of triggering images.
Note that in term of results, it will be identical and the overlap set will be respected. On Android, as you mentioned it, you will have a few extra pictures.
