How to download the results from Pix4Dcloud

There are different options to access the result files after processing on the Cloud.

  1. Open an already created dataset.
  2. Go to Files > Results to display the list of downloadable items. Alternatively, click Download.

Note: The list of downloadable items depends on:

IN THIS ARTICLE

Download single outputs
Download reports
Download project files (all generated files and outputs)
Download input images

Download single outputs

Generated outputs can be downloaded individually, for example, the .las Point Cloud file, the .fbx 3D Mesh file.

In the Outputs section, available results show the label PROCESSED or AVAILABLE.

To download an output:

  1. Click Download on the desired output.
  2. If asked, specify the format to export the output locally.
  3. (Optional) If the needed output is not in the list, the entire results folders need to be downloaded.
  4. The requested output starts downloading.

Available downloadable files can be the following.

OUTPUT FORMAT

Orthomosaic
(transparent or opaque)

GeoTIFF
GeoTIFF bundle (.tif+.prj+.tfw)

DTM

GeoTIFF

DSM

GeoTIFF

NDVI

GeoTIFF

Reflectance maps

GeoTIFF (of each band)
GeoTIFF bundle (all bands)

Point Cloud

LAS
LAS (bundle of .las files if the point cloud is split into tiles)

Mesh OBJ

ZIP (Zipped folder containing the .obj, .mtl and .jpg files)

Mesh FBX

FBX

Contour lines

ZIP (.shp, .dxf, .pdf)

Important: For some outputs (e.g. DSM), if the output is split into several tiles because it was too big or because of camera and processing options, the output cannot be downloaded individually. It is then needed to download the project folders to get all the tiles (e.g. stored in: ...\project_name\2_dsm_ortho\1_dsm\tiles).
Only for the point cloud, it is possible to download a bundle containing all the tiles.

Download reports

In the Reports section, available reports show the label PROCESSED.

OUTPUT FORMAT

Quality report

XML, PDF

Processing log

LOG file

AutoGCPs report

PDF

To download a report:

  1. Click Download on the desired report.
  2. If asked, specify the format to export the output locally.
  3. The requested report starts downloading.

Download project files

Downloading the project files means downloading the .p4d file and the entire results folders of the processed steps in order to be able to open the project locally.

In the Bundles section, available bundles show the label PROCESSED or AVAILABLE.

OUTPUT FORMAT

Export to Pix4D Desktop

ZIP (Zipped folder)

Information: The label shows ERROR in case the Project is too big to zip.

Important: The project files do not include the input images. It is necessary to download them separately in case the images are not saved on the local computer and the project needs to be opened in Pix4Dmapper.
To download the project files:
  1. Click Download. A notification appears indicating that the .zip file is being generated. As soon as the .zip file is ready for download, an email is sent to the email address of the license account.
  2. Open the email and click Download zip file.
  3. Unzip the file and save the project in the desired directory.
  4. (Optional) To access individual outputs (e.g. orthomosaic, point cloud) browse the folders to locate the desired file. For more information about the structure of the project folders: Project Folder Structure.
  5. It is then also possible to open the project with Pix4Dmapper, provided the software is installed. For more information: Software Download and Installation

Download input images

In the Bundles section, available results show the label PROCESSED or AVAILABLE.

OUTPUT FORMAT

Input images

ZIP (Zipped folder containing the input images and the .p4d file)

To download the input files:

  1. Click Download on the Input Images. A notification appears indicating that the .zip file is being generated. As soon as the .zip file is ready for download, an email is sent to the email address of the license account.
  2. Open the email and click Download zip file.
  3. Unzip the file and save the folder in the desired directory.
  4. Browse the project folders and double click the file project_name.p4d.
  5. If asked, on the pop-up, click OK and navigate to the directory where the images are stored.

    Hello All.

RE: Scenario. I multiple users (colleagues) using the Pix4Dcatch "trail" app from their I-phone.  I have the desktop Pix4Dmapper and Pix4Dcloud package with two desktop licenses.

How do I gain full access to their 3D imagnry that was created through the Pix4Dcatch trial version?

For future usage, do each of my colleagues need to have their own Pix4D subscription account to keep that 3D imagery and point cloud data? Can they transfer rights to my account, or do they need to pay another subscription fee?

    Best regards

  • Alice (Pix4D)

    Hi Sean,

Can you confirm that I understood correctly before answering your question:

    - Some colleagues of yours use Pix4Dcatch to make the acquisitions and do not have a license associated with their Pix4D account, if any.
    - Your user account has a Pix4Dmapper and a Pix4Dcloud license but you do not use Pix4Dcatch to make the acquisitions

What is your final goal? Do you want to upload the images directly to Pix4Dcloud or do you need to export the images to process them in Pix4Dmapper or keep them on a sharing platform or a mix of these options?

    Hi,

I have downloaded the file individually (file was too big to ZIP), then tried running on PIX4dMapper software but the results are nowhere to be found. I am trying to make a video flyover but without the results, this cannot be done.

    Please help.

  • Kapil (Pix4D)

    Hello Jason,

You have to download the complete project to open it on the Pix4Dmapper software. Downloading the individual files won't allow you to open it using the Pix4Dmapper software. For your case, if you can't download the complete project, you have to process the project on Pix4Dmapper again to create a flyover video.

  • Jason Zafry

    Hi Kapil,

I have also downloaded the project through PIX4Dmapper, still no results are shown
