Discontinuation of PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey versions 1.43 and older

Overview

As part of our ongoing commitment to security, reliability, and customer success, Pix4D will discontinue support for PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey versions 1.43 and older. Starting January 15, 2026, users of these versions will no longer be able to log in, process, save, or export projects. To ensure uninterrupted access to your data and workflows, we strongly recommend upgrading to a supported version as soon as possible.

Why is this happening?

Older versions of PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey rely on legacy infrastructure that no longer meets modern security and compliance standards. Removing support for these versions allows us to:

  • Protect your data with up-to-date security protocols
  • Ensure compatibility with the latest operating systems and hardware
  • Deliver new features and improvements more efficiently

Who is affected?

You are affected if you are using PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey version 1.43 or older. After January 15, 2026, you will not be able to log in to these versions, which means you will lose the ability to process, save, or export your projects.

What do I need to do?

1. Upgrade to a supported version

  • If you have a valid upgrade license:
You can upgrade directly to the latest version (currently 1.85 or newer) to benefit from all new features and support.
  • If you do not have a valid upgrade license:
Pix4D will provide you with complementary access to version 1.47, ensuring you can continue your work without interruption.

How to upgrade:

  1. Open your Pix4D account page and log in using the associated account credentials.
  2. Under Your organizations, select the Dashboard of the organization that holds the license(s).
  3. On the left sidebar, click Download software.
  4. Under Your products, locate the desired product. A personalized download button will be available for the latest version accessible with the license.

If you need access to version 1.47, contact us for assistance.

2. Secure Your Data

  • Before January 15, 2026, ensure all your projects are saved and exported using a supported version.
  • If you are unable to upgrade, follow this article to store your projects locally.

What happens if I do nothing?

  • After January 15, 2026, you will not be able to log in to PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dsurvey 1.43 or older.
  • You will not be able to process, save, or export any projects from these versions.
  • Any unsaved work may be lost.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Will my project files be compatible with newer versions?

Yes, projects created in version 1.43 can be opened in versions 1.47, 1.86, and newer. While minor glitches cannot be entirely excluded for very old projects, our QA team regularly tests backward compatibility, and we are committed to supporting your migration.

What if I cannot upgrade due to hardware or other constraints?

If you are unable to upgrade, we recommend exporting and archiving your project data before the deadline. Please refer to this article or contact support for personalized assistance.

Will I be charged for the upgrade?

  • If you have a valid upgrade license, you can upgrade at no additional cost.
  • If you do not have a valid upgrade license, Pix4D will provide access to version 1.47 for free to ensure business continuity.

How will I be notified?

  • All affected users will receive an email with detailed instructions.
  • If you are an identifiable user, you may also receive a direct notification with a link to download version 1.47.
