Annotations during capture in PIX4Dcatch

PIX4Dcatch, a mobile application for capturing geospatial information, includes a feature that simplifies recording field observations with the use of Detailed Annotations.

What are detailed annotations?

Detailed Annotations allow adding contextual information directly to your PIX4Dcatch project. Each annotation can feature a title and description, along with a photo taken automatically. These annotations are georeferenced and automatically uploaded along with the project, ensuring that important field data is never lost or separated from the rest of your dataset. This new feature allows creating a detailed annotation while the capture is being completed.

The annotation process and project capture run in parallel. While the user annotates, images are automatically captured in the background. Also, images saved in the project and images saved for annotations are both used in the 3D reconstruction.

Requirements

  • Access to Detailed Annotations is available only on iPhone Pro models featuring LIDAR capabilities.
  • A valid PIX4Dcatch Professional License.
